Off the Schedule: "Commander in Chief"

Looks like Simon, Paula and Randy have more power than ABC thought over the lady President on Tuesday nights. Despite Geena Davis's Golden Globe win, the show just isn't holding up against "American Idol." In a press release ABC issued detailing February sweeps, the show was pulled from the schedule for the time being. The show has not been cancelled and should return later in the spring.

Elsewhere in the news: Did "Buffy" drive a stake through the WB's heart? The announcement of the formation of The CW has the industry abuzz with predictions of which shows will remain and where they will land on the schedule next fall. What caused the WB to stunt its growth when it seemed the network was well on the way to becoming a contender? This is an interesting article about the history of the WB and what may have helped cause the network's downward spiral. Did the WB make a tragic mistake by letting "Buffy" go?
