Desperate Housewives Heads to Argentina, Colombia, Brazil and Ecuador
Friday February 24, 2006
The success of ABC's Desperate Housewives has prompted Disney to produce the show in Spanish in Argentina, Colombia and Ecuador and Portuguese in Brazil. The premise will stay the same, but some plot points will change to realistically portray the local culture. For example, a plumber wouldn't typically live in a neighborhood such as Wisteria Lane, so the character of Mike will have a different profession. The scripts will stay the same and all versions will be filmed on one set in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The first episode is expected to air sometime in June or July.
