First Casualty of the Season?

Thursday October 5, 2006
Looks like the almighty axe is about to fall on NBC's Kidnapped. When a television pilot is picked up, thirteen episodes are contracted and if the series performs well in the ratings, the network will then order what's called the "back nine," which brings the total episode order for a season to 22. While NBC has not officially cancelled Kidnapped, the back nine have not been picked up and the network has ordered production to shut down at 13. For those of you who have already become invested in the storyline, there is no need to fret -- the producers had planned for the worst case scenario, therefore the storyline will tie up all loose ends by the end of the series run.
