D.A. Files Felony Charges Against Lane Garrison
Thursday March 8, 2007
After months of speculation, the Los Angeles District Attorney has officially filed charges against former Prison Break star Lane Garrison for his role in the death of 17-year-old Vahaghn Setian on December 2, 2006. Garrison has been charged with felony vehicular manslaughter, a felony count of driving under the influence and a misdemeanor count of providing alcohol to a minor. Bail was set at $100,000 and the arraignment has been scheduled for April 11. Back in February, the Beverly Hills Police Department confirmed that Garrison's blood alcohol level was 0.20 (well above the legal limit) and tested positive for cocaine at the time of the accident. Garrison's lawyer, Harland Braun told reporters that the actor "has a deep sense of responsibility. He is going to accept responsibility for his conduct." If convicted, the actor is facing six years and eight months in prison.
