Kiefer Sutherland Busted for DUI

When will these celebrities learn to not drink and drive? You would think with all that money, they could hire a driver for the night rather than becoming the latest celebrity scandal. Taking his second turn at driving while intoxicated within a five-year period (a move that could land him a mandatory 4 or 5 days in jail) is 24 star Kiefer Sutherland. TMZ and our own Celebrity Gossip site report that Sutherland, who was just leaving the Fox Fall Eco-Casino party at Area nighclub, made an illegal U-turn and when pulled over by the LAPD, failed field sobriety tests and then found to be two times over the legal limit of .08 when administered the breathalyzer.

Sutherland posted $25,000 bail early Tuesday morning and is scheduled to face the music on October 16.

TMZ and CelebTV reported that Sutherland is by far, no stranger to the back seat of police car -- this latest DUI is the fourth for the television and movie star. The actor was charged with DUI in 1988 (along with a concealed weapons charge) and 1993. In both cases, Sutherland pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of Reckless Driving and placed on probation. In 2004, he pleaded guilty for DUI and was placed on probation for five years.
