Joss Whedon Returns to Television
Thursday November 1, 2007
Joss Whedon, the brilliant mind who brought us the Buffyverse is heading back to television and not a moment too soon as far as I'm concerned. Kristen at E! Online was the first to break the news that Joss Whedon is in the midst of creating a series titled Dollhouse for Fox. Former Buffy/Angel alum Eliza Dushku is set to portray the lead, a woman named Echo whom Fox describes as a member of a group of men and women who are imprinted with different personalities for different assignments. When they are finished with their current assignments, they are mind-wiped, living like children in a futuristic dorm/lab called the Dollhouse. While all of the subjects have no memories, Echo is determined to find out who she really was before the Dollhouse.
Not only was Dollhouse ordered to pilot, but Fox has given the series a seven-episode commitment and is expected to begin filming early next year (depending on the length of the writers' strike) and will likely land on the fall schedule next year.
