Ellen Pompeo Marries Her Own McDreamy

Big Hollywood weddings like the Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes spectacle last year may be fun for onlookers and fans, but I think many would agree that having a huge wedding isn't necessarily indicative of the type of marriage that couple will enjoy in the years to come. When you're a celebrity planning a wedding, one of the biggest obstacles is dealing with the ever-present paparazzi, which can make the planning anything but fun or productive. When Grey's Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo and record producer Chris Ivery got engaged last year, she stated that their wedding would not be a huge, tinsel town event, but rather a quiet affair that she and Chris could enjoy for themselves. True to her word, Ellen married Chris last Friday in a quiet ceremony at City Hall in New York, with Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Deputy Mayor Patti Harris as their witnesses. The newlyweds spent the rest of the weekend in New York City and even took in a Knicks game at Madison Square Garden on Sunday night. Congrats to the happy couple!
