More Shows Receive Full Season Orders

Tuesday November 27, 2007
It's hard to imagine a full season of anything on television right now with the writers' strike going strong, but the studios are determined to think positively and offer fans some hope in all of this mess by giving several new series their "back nine" orders. Last week, ABC granted Dirty Sexy Money a full season and this week NBC does the same with Chuck and Life. While none of these series have garnered impressive ratings, they seem to be holding their own against the mighty competition they face. The "back nine" order of Dirty Sexy Money marks the third new ABC series to be picked up (Pushing Daisies and Private Practice are the other two), making all three Wednesday night series winners in an unremarkable fall television season. Whether or not any of these series actually produce a full seasons worth of episodes remains to be seen, but rumor has it that negotiations are going well and we may see a resolution by Christmas.

In Other TV News....

Kyle XY fans have cause to celebrate in the New Year when ABC Family brings the second half of season two to a living room near you sooner than expected. Zap2it reports that the summer perennial series is set to premiere on Monday, January 14 and will air all 10 season 2-B episodes throughout those cold winter months. ABC Family has already renewed Kyle XY for a third season, but due to the strike, it is unknown whether we'll actually see those episodes this summer or sometime next year.
