Monday February 18, 2008
As the television season begins to wind down, the networks are busy ordering pilots and getting the fall schedule ready for the annual May Upfront presentations. It's also this time of the year when the networks must make some tough decisions about the future of any series that aren't performing well in the ratings.

Is your favorite show safe? Has the time come to begin campaigning? We've compiled a list of the shows that have been canceled and the series that are either on the bubble or in extreme danger of cancellation.

Which Series Should Be Saved From Cancellation? Vote Now!

(1) Sandra says:

I wish I could say that Prison Break should be saved, as it was one of my absolute favorite shows before this season. But this season tanked so horrendously that I haven’t even been able to watch the last few episodes. It’s just bad, bad, bad. They should have ended it in Season 2.

Friday Night Lights, on the other hand, continues to be compelling. Jericho is good fun, and I’d like it to stay on, but FNL gets my vote.

(2) Ann says:

Why isn’t The Unit on the poll?

February 18, 2008 at 10:56 pm
(3) tvdramas says:

I thought about adding The Unit, but 1) The poll only allows 10 entries and 2) I think The Unit stands a better chance than most of the other shows on the poll. :)

February 20, 2008 at 2:45 pm
(4) Jan says:

I voted for the wonderful “Friday Night Lights.” I suppose it falls into that category of shows “too good to continue.” I also feel badly that “Cane” is being cancelled. Great cast and interesting family dynamics. It was in an impossible time slot.

February 21, 2008 at 7:51 pm
(5) mitfan4ever says:

Of course Men in Trees should be saved although I don’t believe that it is truly in jeopardy. By the way, those of you who have never watched this fantastic show, please watch when it returns WEDNESDAY FEB. 27th at 10/9c. on ABC! It is an hour well spent! You will absolutely love and adore this show. Please watch it with us!!!

February 21, 2008 at 9:41 pm
(6) Karina says:

I’m wondering why Cashmere Mafia isn’t on the list. That’s the only show I’d vote for to save.

February 22, 2008 at 7:09 pm
(7) Erin M says:

My vote is most definately for Men in Trees. It’s a great show. I did like October Road but it seems to drag on & be depressing lately. I like a show that puts me in a good mood & Men in Trees does just that!

February 22, 2008 at 7:10 pm
(8) Maline says:

I wish they would bring back “Life is Wild”. It’s the only family drama that is worth watching on television and it’s my favourite show on CWnetwork.
Why is this show not listed in the poll of shows you want to save?

February 23, 2008 at 4:59 pm
(9) Jackie says:

Long live October Road!!!

February 24, 2008 at 1:15 pm
(10) lilly says:

Men in trees is a truly great show and its viewers deserve another season.

February 25, 2008 at 9:05 am
(11) jenny says:

October Road must be saved! I know that it is on all of the endangered lists but I have hope that ABC will do the right thing and give the Roadies a Season 3!

February 25, 2008 at 11:43 am
(12) Susan says:

Men in Tree’s is one of the best shows that has graced tv in years. It is a complete escape, you laugh, your cry, you related to the characters, you get lost in the show. I hope ABC doesn’t take this away. The only reason it hasn’t done well is because you never know when it is going to be on. If they would give it a permanent spot more people would be able to get lost in Elmo Alaska!

February 26, 2008 at 12:20 pm
(13) K.K. says:

Men in Trees should definitely be saved. The show is just finding a fantastic groove and it has a real presence. I look forward to it every week!

I wonder though why Moonlight isn’t on the list?

February 27, 2008 at 10:47 am
(14) Irene says:

What about Cane? It wasn’t given much of a chance.

February 27, 2008 at 11:33 am
(15) Robyn says:

October Road. I just like it because it’s a nice change of pace. And, now Las Vegas since NBC is losing their mind with canceling it.

February 28, 2008 at 8:50 am
(16) Deb says:

October Road is one of the best new shows on TV currently. You can see by the poll they have an overwhelming fan base that supports them. I hope ABC sees way to give this show a full season 3 so it can flourish to the heights I know it can climb.

February 28, 2008 at 3:03 pm
(17) julie says:

i would definitely save October Road. it hasn’t been given a real chance to show it’s stuff. please give it a season 3

The early years of Gilmore Girls was the other show i’ve felt so passionate about.

February 28, 2008 at 7:01 pm
(18) Marta says:

I hope ABC will bring October Road back next season. It’s the best show right now.

March 1, 2008 at 12:25 pm
(19) Meg says:

I’d love to see October Road renewed. I am completely addicted to this show and absolutely love its cast. It’s been hard to find, as it’s been off the air much between airing, but it’s gonna be on for the next two Monday nights and I am SO looking forward to seeing it again. Please be kind, ABC, and renew this great show!

March 6, 2008 at 11:58 am
(20) Melanie says:

Save Friday Night Lights!!! Hands down the best show on TV. If you haven’t watched it yet, you really need too because you are missing an extraordinary show! This show has all the facets that you could ever want; family values, teen drama, adult drama, friendships, hardships and relationships. I can’t say enough about it. It really needs some TV plugs and promos, it just doesn’t get the recognition it truly deserves! It’s rare that something so good comes along that is relatable to all demographics, young, old, black, white, sport fans, non-sport fans etc. Vote to keep this show afloat!

March 13, 2008 at 10:38 pm
(21) Stephanie says:

I think October Road should be saved by far! It is a one of a kind show and really something special. Everything about the show is just simply amazing. It’s a show you can watch by yourself, or with your significant other, friends or family, which there aren’t too many shows like that out there. Please save October Road!!!

March 16, 2008 at 10:55 pm
(22) Welcome2CHO says:

Jericho is the best show on TV right now — bar none! There are other good shows on this poll, as well, but Jericho is tops for my family, friends, and co-workers. If you haven’t tried it, you should.

March 17, 2008 at 6:32 am
(23) judist63 says:

Jericho is the most wonderful program to me and my family on tv right now. Alot of the other shows on the poll I haven’t had the pleasure of watching so I can’t say anything about them. I just know that we fought very hard to keep Jericho on tv and it would be a shame if it got pulled again. I love this show with all of my heart and will fight again to save it again!

March 17, 2008 at 1:17 pm
(24) Cher says:

Jericho is the most awesome show on Network in a long, long time. Season 2 keeps you sitting on the edge of your seat during the whole show. Tues @ 10pm on CBS

March 17, 2008 at 3:34 pm
(25) Grace says:

I have to go with JERICHO!
I ADORE this show.
It’s exciting and different but it has ‘heart’. The characters are like family to me now.
I will be totally heart-broken if CBS cancels JERICHO.

March 17, 2008 at 3:57 pm
(26) Jes says:

Jericho all the way. One of the best shows in a long time. I can sit and watch it with my family. If you haven’t seen it, tune in on Tuesday nights at 10 and check it out. You won’t be disappointed. It is also on SciFi channel.

March 17, 2008 at 5:22 pm
(27) ampabst says:

October Road is a show that needs to be saved, it is the only show I make sure I never miss!!!

March 17, 2008 at 6:30 pm
(28) Scott says:

My vote is for the Knight’s Ridge crew – October Road is a show like nothing else around. The minds behind it have struck solid gold, a show that makes you feel good without being cheesy about it. That’s not easy to do. It’d be a shame to turn that down.

March 18, 2008 at 10:36 am
(29) Ftjazgal says:

JERICHO all the way. This is the best show that has EVER been on television. I am 41 years old and I have never followed a TV program in my life. This is one show that NEEDS to remain….the story needs to be told.

March 18, 2008 at 10:49 am
(30) Lauri says:

JERICHO should have another season, it is such a great break from reality tv and cop shows. If you have never watched Jericho give a shot. I am 40 and I never miss an episode. I also own season 1. GO JERICHO.

March 18, 2008 at 8:50 pm
(31) virginian51 says:

Love Jericho! Never enjoyed network TV so much until Jericho came along!
Bring on season 3!

March 19, 2008 at 4:26 pm
(32) connie says:

SAVE OCTOBER ROAD!!!!! It’s such a feel good show and it deserves a chance. Besides, the finale left every character in limbo. We need to know what happens! Please dont’ cancel this show. PLEASE. I don’t watch a lot of TV but this one is a must see for me. Change the time slot if you need to – this show’s loyal fans will work around it!

March 20, 2008 at 1:52 am
(33) J.H says:

jericho is a show that deserves to be saved. Its concept is unique & story line captivating. CBS doesn’t realize how many different directions this show can go. Its a #1 hit…. waiting to be discovered.
GO JERICHO!!!!!!

March 20, 2008 at 7:42 pm
(34) Winston says:

I am really tired of these reality junky Jericho fans littering there nonsense everywhere. If your fluff show is canceled, don’t worry you still have Big Brother and 24 coming soon. As for the rest of us, we enjoy meaningful and well written entertainment that involves more than one hunky guy saving a town of rejects day in and day out.

March 20, 2008 at 8:35 pm
(35) Karen says:

JeriCHO JeriCHO

Gee, sorry you don’t like it but I have NO idea why you call it reality junk. It’s a great speculative fiction drama. At least get it right. Guess you haven’t bothered to watch it. FWIW, most of us can’t stand the reality tv shows. And I’ve never had an interest in 24. It’s not Jericho and Jericho is the only thing worth watching on TV in my book.

March 20, 2008 at 9:16 pm
(36) Sarah Berkman says:

I don’t think the poster was calling Jericho reality TV as much as just lumping it in with those types of shows. Myself, I tuned in a little bit this season but was too conspiracy ridden for my liking. It almost made me feel un-American watching it. As long as HBO continues mini series like John Adams I have no real issue with anything else being canceled to try something new.

March 20, 2008 at 9:24 pm
(37) Erin says:

Seriously, they should change the name of the show from Jericho to Jake And The Black Man. Then they can try it again, but this time make it how it would REALLY be after a nuclear attack instead of all about who’s having an affair with who. Best concept ever. Worst execucution of that concept ever. No wonder everyone like me stopped tuning out after the first 3 episodes.

March 20, 2008 at 10:12 pm
(38) Christy says:

I love Jericho!! I love Surviver Big Brother and Dancing with the Stars too!!! Don’t bash my shows mmmk? The Big Brother Jericho power 2 hours is the best night on tv!!! If you haven’t watched any of these shows you have no room to talk and obviously don’t know anything about good tv so get a life ok?

March 20, 2008 at 11:31 pm
(39) Steve says:

JERICHO…..reality TV is so mindless and repetitive. It just shows how the majority of people think, when they opt to see the same concept prostituted in different clothes. Jericho has substance and is a breath of fresh air. I don’t watch television anymore with the exception of Jericho on CBS, the History Channel, and the Discovery Channel. I let people watch what they want to watch, but I tell people about Jericho in hopes that they’ll appreciate the show as well. So far, I’ve yet to meet someone who hasn’t thanked me for introducing them to Jericho. I hope it gets a third season!

March 20, 2008 at 11:36 pm
(40) Robert says:

Ya I was going to vote for Men And Trees cause I’m a big fan of that show and I really love nature and stuff so I think it’s cool. But then I saw Jericho on the list, and I wasn’t going to watch it at first but then I got hooked cause it’s so good. It’s one of those shows that makes you think. If you haven’t seen it, you should check it out. It’s one of the only shows on TV right now that has any kind of intellegence to it, and Men And Trees too, and I like October Sky as well but Jericho is by far the best. I recommend it!

March 20, 2008 at 11:40 pm
(41) Steven says:

CBS takes all the great shows off the air. Pirate Master, Jericho, My Big Fat Obnoxious Boss. What’s next? Big Brother and Surviver are going to get the axe? They obviously have no clue what the fans like.

March 20, 2008 at 11:47 pm
(42) Cherie says:

Winston,
I can tell you have never watch Jericho;”reality junky”?? “fluff show”?? Why in the world would I like Big Brother and 24? This is one of the best dramas to air in a decade. Guess you too busy watching Idol!

March 21, 2008 at 1:02 am
(43) james says:

Fifty years ago, a guy called Pat Frank wrote a book called Alas, Babylon. It has now been realized in a show called Jericho. This is a serious and intelligent show that reminds us of the world we live in now in all its beauty and horror. Its got great characters and a straightforward yet intriguing plot that sets small-town survival against the backdrop of national conspiracy.

March 21, 2008 at 12:36 pm
(44) Kurt says:

I’m just not feeling the Jericho Reality vibe, sorry gang. I’m just glad Pushing Daisies is still on the air. Very original entertainment.

March 21, 2008 at 2:25 pm
(45) Jim says:

Winston the only reason you are tired of Jericho is because you are mad they have found a show that required you to think. It is Ok go buy some asprin the headache will go away.

March 21, 2008 at 5:51 pm
(46) Winston says:

Now why would I watch Idol after I just got finished saying how I believed Reality TV programming is horrible entertainment? That makes no sense. As for Jericho, it has long moved past the “what if” scenarios that do make you think, into a realm of anti-American evil government propaganda. It’s something to zone out on, not ponder over. It’s very predictable and clearly just another cookie cutter 24 show, just with a different premise. I would assume you also believe the twin towers was an inside job? In anycase, if you are gaining your education, or stimulating your brain from a fictional TV show, then it’s you who I should be questioning. And for the record, I voted for none of the above shows. I don’t watch television much and when I do it’s either one of the HBO or Showtime series, or my local news here in New York.

CBS Entertainment is not renewing Jericho. We are now fighting CBS/Paramount, who own the rights to Jericho, to sell Jericho to another network.
Join us over at the CBS Jericho Message Board to see how you can help.

(50) Paula says:

October Road – simply the best show on TV. It is real, everyday life that reaches out to everyone young and old male or female. It shows real people with real problems – no pretend or reality stuff here. It keeps you coming back for more each week. Please ABC give October Road another chance with a steady time slot and a little more advertising and the viewers will come in droves. Never stop believing in October Road.

April 2, 2008 at 1:51 pm
(51) Cindy says:

Sure, October Road got off to somewhat of a jumpy start but that’s what happens when the writers had to cram so much into those first six episodes. The second season proved that OR was steadily improving upon itself and by the 12th and 13th episodes (another partial season for OR) it then gave us an amazing blow-out finale. I’ve always loved the story lines, the characters, the small town setting and the real life quality of OR. The music soundtrack is always outstanding, and the Janet and Eddie story have become a surprise America favorite. October Road deserves a real chance to prove itself, if ABC will just give it a FULL season with some decent promoting then OR will be able to strut its stuff properly. Go October Road!

April 27, 2008 at 9:10 pm
(52) kooper says:

Hands down, October Road has my vote for renewal! It’s fresh, it’s relatable, it’s quality television.

April 28, 2008 at 6:28 am
(53) Cindy says:

October Road should most definitely be saved! This program has redefined the meaning of quality television and deserves to continue for another season. Their season two finale was by far the best finale I have ever witnessed. Bring on season three and Long Live the Road!

April 28, 2008 at 2:31 pm
(54) kooper says:

October Road’s season 2 finale felt more like a beginning. So many doors opened. We need answers to our question, we need season 3!

April 29, 2008 at 7:38 am
(55) kooper says:

October Road is one of a kind! It’s simply the best.

April 30, 2008 at 12:11 pm
(56) kooper says:

October Road is by far the most worthwhile show to save. No other show can hold a candle to the quality and craftmanship that October Road has. For tips on how you can help save October Road, please visit the ABC.com message board.

April 30, 2008 at 2:04 pm
(57) Paul Perrona says:

October Road is by far the best.
It deserves renewal above all the rest.
It has the best performers, the best writers,
And the fans are such incredible fighters.
With this kind of support, ABC knows
The fan base will only continue to grow
And given time I’m sure it will.
October Road is in diapers still.

April 30, 2008 at 4:45 pm
(58) Judy says:

Men in Trees was never given a fair shake by ABC and the powers that be. I’m so sick of the numbers games played by the networks.

How on earth can people discover a good program when it is slammed around like a ping pong ball?

April 30, 2008 at 6:12 pm
(59) Meggan K says:

I love October Road! ABC has to renew it! I love the fan’s of October Road! I love the campaign to save October Road! Pay October Road Forward! I see a season 3 coming up ahead, watch out, the cry of joy is going to be huge. Go roadies! If you don’t already, I know you will love October Road too!

April 30, 2008 at 7:06 pm
(60) christine says:

Jericho is the most incredible show I have ever watched. Winston from ny: You should not stereotype the fans of Jericho. You insinuate that the people who watch are anti-government and 911 was an inside job. I happen to be a conservative Federalist. It is just a great show. Only network show I watched.

April 30, 2008 at 9:10 pm
(61) clm4jericho says:

Jericho – because it is different. Jericho, because it is thought-provoking. Makes one think about what in life is important. It is about any town, anywhere, faced with the worse scenario and how these people came together to protect their family, their homes, their country. It is not anti-government. It is anti-evil; anti-corruption. It is about you, your neighbor. It is about us. It is about human nature – good or bad.

April 30, 2008 at 10:49 pm
(62) Holly says:

Jericho-because it has everything I want in a show-excellent acting, excellent writing, some of everything-mystery, romance, what-if drama, a little bit of sci-fi, war, bombs, radiation, and even an upcoming civil war. It is a show you can watch as a family! (But I do wish Johnston Green was still alive.)

April 30, 2008 at 11:21 pm
(63) Jess says:

Save October Road! At least watch just for one full episode and you will be addicted!!! We need it to come back. There is so much negative stuff out there and this is just nice wholesome TV with a twist of drama to still satisfy! I love it! You’ll love it! Please fight for this amazing show!

April 30, 2008 at 11:23 pm
(64) Jess says:

and just FYI I haven’t really ever rallied on a fan site for anything before or become soo fanatical for anything but this show has Heart. That is the best way to explain it.

April 30, 2008 at 11:29 pm
(65) Jess says:

I have never watched October Road on TV before but only because I DIDNT KNOW it existed I don’t watch ABC but I will surely watch this show if it comes back for a third season. So far I bought season one on DVD at Best Buy then bought season 2 episode by episode on itunes and finished in 3 days thats how much I loved it! I couldn’t even wait till the next day. It is safe to say I am addicted, otherwise why would I be on my laptop constantly rallying to keep this wonderful tv show alive?

April 30, 2008 at 11:31 pm
(66) Meggan K says:

Good thing Jericho and October Road aren’t even in compitition, right!LOL They are on different nights and networks. I mean I kind of agree with wiston of NY. I watch every episode of Jericho and S2 really seemed to be trying to shove the whole Hallaburten Myth down my throat. I still watched but I thought it ended well and I don’t really need to see any more since Johnston Green is gone, the rational voice of reason is gone.

April 30, 2008 at 11:32 pm
(67) Marin and Mick fan says:

Men in Trees has my vote!!! I love the show and have been addicted since the pilot episode. Its one of the few mostly family friendly shows on today. Please ABC give the show a permanent time slot so everyone can fall in love with Elmo!!!

To Ms. Thomas, Why isn’t Moonlight on your list? Moonlight and Men in Trees are the only shows I set time aside each week to watch (oh and Grey’s Anatomy of course) and I have been watching Moonlight since the pilot episode as well. Please can’t you help us save Mick and Beth too?

April 30, 2008 at 11:58 pm

(70) Mia says:

October Road is simply the best quality show on television right now. It’s real, honest and deals with everyday life. Nothing fake here. It appeals to all genders and ages. It truly is a one of a kind show. ABC bring back October Road!

May 1, 2008 at 7:34 am
(71) Sam says:

Jericho ALL the way! I love everything about this show. Story, plot, execution, even the music! Can’t find one thing I don’t like about it (except the fact it’s now OFF!!). I think if people don’t like this program, it’s because it makes them entertain the thought that the Fed. Government isn’t always on our side (I prefer to say to RARELY), and because it doesn’t fall into the same, STALE category of the 1 trillion Law and Order spin offs.

May 1, 2008 at 9:20 am
(72) Jane says:

Jericho is so worth saving. Great story, fabulous actors, good action, and a story that could actually happen. Jericho is not the run of the mill formula shows that permeate the airwaves these days. I miss it horribly and it has a HUGE fan base. Whomever choses to air Jericho won’t have trouble with viewers despite what the Neilsens say!!
Bring Jericho back!

May 1, 2008 at 1:17 pm
(73) Stephanie says:

I think October Road is a phenomenal show. It has the best of everything; the music, the setting, the characters, the writing, the scenery, the cast(acting) and the fans. The connection the actors and actresses have with their fans is more like a friendship, than just them acting in the show. I think everything involved with October Road is truly something special.

(74) cassandra says:

how depressing, last night i see there is no men in trees on so i go to the web site to see what is happening with one of my very favorite shows only to fallow a link that informs me that not only is men in trees in danger of cancellation a few of my other favorite shows are being cancelled like bionic woman and sara conner cronicles.come on i feel like everytime i get into a show it gets replaced by a show im totally not interested in.men in trees must be saved! thank gosh supernatural is not on that list and i hope is does not end up there any time soon.

(76) Sharon M says:

I really like Men in Trees and Women’s Murder Club and will continue to watch them as long as they are on, but my vote goes every time to OCTOBER ROAD. I cannot think of a show I’ve loved this much. I knew nothing about the actors or the writer and barely remembered Beautiful Girls so it was an accident that I watched the first time. Now it is my all time favorite show.

May 1, 2008 at 11:46 pm
(77) CSAAMOM says:

October Road deserves to be brought back for Seasons 3 thru 10! This is such a quality family show. It is truly a joy to watch with the relationships, the music, the writing, the editing… I cannot say enough wonderful things about this show. The Roadies will make sure that this is the a success with all of the devoted fans out there, and more and more growing every day! Long Live October Road!!

(78) Joanna says:

I hope and pray that ABC will give October Road a season 3!! And I will keep on until they do!! Long live October Road! Absolutely one of the best shows EVER!!!

May 2, 2008 at 12:54 pm
(79) Chris G says:

Men In Trees is one of the few shows on television right now that’s not filled with violence, drugs, blatant lust & sex, one-upmanship, hate and vitriol. The residents of Elmo, Alaska, are just plain people that actually seem to like each other – What a great notion!

The show provides humor, makes you feel close to the characters, and the moral issues addressed in each show actually make you think about the situation. Maybe if there was more of this on TV, our children wouldn’t be growing up to think violence, sex, and hate were the way to behave.

I know shows like this are not as popular as the blood & guts stuff, but not everyone enjoys all the blood & guts. And don’t get me started on Reality TV…

Please keep Men In Trees on the air. It’s good entertainment.

May 2, 2008 at 5:43 pm
(80) Tara says:

My vote definately has to go to Jericho. It’s just one of the best programs I’ve ever seen.
I *thought* I liked Lost. I thought Lost was the best thing out there. Then I saw Jericho.
Whew! Can’t blab on enough about how much I love everything about this show! All the actors/actresses did a GREAT job, and if it’s continued, I would love to see them all reprise their roles.

May 3, 2008 at 8:29 am
(81) Jean Sonntag says:

Please don’t cancel Men in Trees. It is simply one of the best shows on television, romantic, witty, funny, good character development, wonderful scenery and setting. Please don’t take something away that doesn’t depend on violence!

(82) Meggan K says:

Ok I was reading through the comments and saw that cassandra thinks Terminator:SCC is canceled, so not true! I have read everyone Buddytv, T.V. guide, etc. that TSCC was renewed because the finale was really good. Second, MIT fans are fighting to save it with a great campaign. Lastly, MIT and October Road should be on the same be back to back, they both are a show with great quality characters and values. I think ABC should have a monday line up of Pushing Daises/8pm, October Road/9pm, Men in Trees/10pm. That would be a 3 hour block I would watch! I love October Road and will never stop fighting for it! If the show you love is in danger fight for it!

(83) Bella says:

Bring back October Road. It has become my favorite show. I watch quite a few shows on abc but October Road has taken over as my favorite. I love the Eddie and Janet storyline. There is still so much story to be told on this show. Some of my other favorites Gray’s and Ugly Betty are coming back but there stories are beginning to seem old and recycled. It is time for abc to have a new drama with fresh faces and fresh stories. I want to see Eddie and Janet back together in season 3.

(86) Michelle from Michigan says:

Men in Trees is my all-time favorite show. Quality shows like these shouldn’t be cancelled as I’m in awe of how the show is formulated from A to Z with great and dynamic acting/cast/crew, scenery, music, etc etc. Can’t begin to count the ways how it brigtens my nights after the show ends. Please, anyone, ABC? Warner Bros? Please heed the fans..save the desired shows posted as well, SAVE SAVE MIT!!

(92) Denise says:

I too, love Men In Trees & look forward to it every week! I’ve watched every episode. It’s fun, uplifting, romantic, sexy & yes, fun again! The shows only downfall… is ABC’s constant moving timeslot & day of week… how do you expect a show to servive when no one ever knows when it’s on? Yet, somehow I managed to hunt it down! Pick & stick with a timeslot & you’ll find the following for all those who love Men In Trees! Please keep it going!

May 15, 2008 at 3:45 pm
(93) Teresa Schmid says:

Though most of the shows listed were great-Men In Trees was by far my favorite, it reminded me of Northern Exposure. We should e-mail the executives and voice our opinions. With gas prices as high as they are, all we can afford to do is stay home and watch TV. Men In Trees never stood a chance, being moved all around to different days and times and then they only aired three or four episodes at a time and then it would disappear for weeks. Stephen McPherson ( stephen.mcpherson@abc.com ) stated that they gave the show a “good run”, but a good run would be to air on the same day and time for a whole season and to show more than a few episodes at a time. Men In Trees (on abc.com) website has a message board that is currently so busy with disappointed viewers that I can log in to leave my opinion. Other good shows that were canceled were Women’s Murder Club and October Road, yet they leave Wife Swap on…give me a break!

May 15, 2008 at 4:58 pm
(94) Joanne says:

I agree completely. Men in Trees is my favorite show and I hate to see it go off of the air. I believe it would have gotten more viewers if they didnt keep moving it around and everything.

October Road is the best show on tv and should be saved! The Roadies won’t give up! Keep it up, post comment, vote, call, email, write. We need to do whatever we can, ABC can’t do this to us or October Road!

May 17, 2008 at 2:47 pm
(96) Stephanie says:

I know October Road has been declared “canceled,” but that isn’t going to stop us from fighting for it. October Road is too incredible of a show, and very special to let it slip away. We have to do it for the show itself, the cast & crew, and for each other. We have to fight even harder now, and never give up.
SAVE OCTOBER!!!

Men in Trees is, by far, the best show on television, in my opinion. I know I’m not alone in my passion for the show. “They”, who shall remain nameless, are morons for canceling the one brilliant show on network TV!

I didn’t watch Men In Tree at first because of Anne Heche. A friend suggested I watch it once and I was hooked! Enjoyable, light, relatable, fun! People I would like to know and looked forward to watching every week. ABC give “Trees” more time. I have never written before about a show. So this should tell you how much I liked the show.

May 22, 2008 at 4:50 pm
(102) Cassi says:

Men in Trees is an awesome show. Why are all of the good shows canceled? Once it’s gone along with October Road, there’s no reason for me to turn on ABC at all. If ABC wanted to lose an avid viewer, they just have. Thanks ABC

May 22, 2008 at 5:47 pm
(103) angela says:

I usually watch NBC TV because ABC seems to cancel all the good shows and I hate to get hooked on a show then it gets canceled. Men in Trees got me hooked. I like all the characters and the way they interact with one another, support one another and just have fun and would love to know more, more, more about them and like someone said previously if ABC would give it a permanent time slot instead of moving it all over the place, I believe it would have a permanent fan base and I would be the #1 fan.

(104) Teri says:

PLease save all these great shows:
Men in Trees, Women’s Murder Club, October Road. Take off all the stupid game and reality shows that are fake, phony and boaring.

(105) Janine Gonsiorowski says:

I sent this to ABC- complaining about MIT’s cancellation!

Men In Trees- How could you cancel this well-written sitcom?
My husband and myself looked forward to this like so many other viewers!
Has the typical American person’s intellect that mindless, that the ultra reality shows like the “Nanny”, “WifeSwap”, or “The Bachelor” more engaging to lower class viewers, with no sense of humor!
It’s deplorable that we all suffer the consequences! The great sitcoms of yesterday don’t last, like they used too!
They have all been hijacked by the out-numbered idiotic Reality Shows!
For those who think selecting a soul-mate for life on a week-to-week basis,is somewhat charming and romantic? The “Cinderella’s
Complex” has been converted into a “Reality Show”. An for those who waste their precious time watching these shows-They aren’t living in REALITY!

October Road just has to be saved. Might as well keep Men In Trees while we’re at it. I’ve never in my life seen two better groups of fans. We’re all just good people looking for good entertainment, not the reality rubbish or the criminal muck that the networks keep offering. Long live October Road!

(111) KT says:

As I look forward to one of the last
few remaining episodes of “MEN IN TREES”
tonight…I cannot express how it saddens me to see the show’s run coming
to an abrupt close.

It was shameful the way abc treated
Jenny Bicks & friends during their time
on the network.

I hope another channel offers Jenny a
new deal to continue the stories of the
delightfully quirky residents of Elmo.
All the pieces were falling into place
so beautifully.

ps…AnneCeleste, hope you spent your
birthday weekend with endless {{hugs}}
from Homer & James!

(112) Tania says:

I just watched one of the last new episodes of Men in Trees……… It breaks my heart to say goodbye to Elmo. After last years fiasco and having to wait months for it to come back on the air, then have it bounced all over the place with days and time slots.
ABC – Shame on you…Why waste all that time, talent and money to treat a great project so shabby. You can keep The Bachelor, Wife Swap and Nanny teaching horid kids to behave. I won’t be watching you any more. Its back to books for me.

Leave the reality shows behind…save Men In Trees!!!!! By far the best show I have ever seen and did well for the bad job ABC did of promoting it and changing the time slot. Get rid of the bachelor and bachelorette and give us back quality tv!

June 6, 2008 at 9:20 am
(119) Kelly says:

ABC– pay attention to MEN IN TREES– take a look at the demographics of the people watching this show versus those watching the mindless crap about pathetic people who don’t have “real” lives. I’ll bet we are more educated, have higher incomes and a greater buying power for your advertisers. We might be a smaller group, but sometimes higher quality makes up for size. If you can’t sell that to your advertisers, then maybe you aren’t employing the right people.

As of June 11th we are saying good-bye to our Wednesday evenings in Elmo. No more Chieftain pool games or watching Buzz singing on stage to Mia. So grab that box of tissues, sit one more time in front of the tube and say….” HEY HO” one last time. We’re all moving on. But a piece of ourselves will always be in Elmo, Alaska with our friends aka family from MIT.

I have loved Men in Trees from the very first second it started. I agree, I will follow it wherever it will go. PLEASE somebody pick it back up. I cannot bear to not have Men in Trees in my life. The entire ensemble of a cast is fabulous. They really did a great job in combing all those characters with the perfect actors. This show it too good to let it end. Would Lifetime Network be a good fit? Or W, or any of those. My husband loves this show too and faithfully watches it and comments on it. He even bugs me to continue to be a letterwriter to keep it on. It’s not just for ladies!!!

I have faithfully chased MIT all over the place every time the Big Wig IDI*TS at ABC moved it. After the worlds longest hiatus. So did everyone at my work. Who in their right mind would put together a show of this magnatude and then treat it like dirt? Talk about throwing away time, money and a great fan base. Way to go ABC you blew it Big Time!

Alot of people didnt know cause people at ABC didnt promote the show hardly at all. Well now its cancelled AGAIN !!! Come on ABC leave men in trees come back and leave it alone and give the show a chance it deserves !!! Ya know what they say third times a charm !! Men in trees !! Men in Trees Me in Trees !!

I am really upset about Men in Trees. I just can’t believe it. If it had low ratings – its only because it got moved time slots. Last year it was on on Fridays – I didn’t really start watching it until this year. Great stories – ok for chicks – great life messages, lots of fun and great characters. I am trying to find sites where i Can vote – how do you get your voice out about this. Imagine the ppl that just really don’t do anything about it!

June 25, 2008 at 8:23 pm
(131) Amy says:

I’m very disappointed in ABC for canceling Men in Trees. Here was a show with a lot of heart, a lot of warmth, a lot of grace, and a very human look at all different kinds of relationships–romantic relationships, friendships, and how a small community bands together in times of trouble and crisis. It didn’t have the “Big Brother Is Watching” element of Jericho, or the body count of Women’s Murder Club, but Men in Trees had one thing that no other show on television today does: normalcy! No gimmicks, no grandstanding, just honest human emotion–the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Marin and Jack had just moved in together. Patrick had just regained his memory…and lost Annie, although he really wanted her back (and I wanted them to get back together–the Annie that took up with Ivan the sleazy hockey player was not the Annie O’Donnell I knew and loved). Newlyweds Jane and Sam were learning new things about each other every day. Sara the former prostitute, single mom, and EMT-in-training and Pastor Eric had just gotten engaged. Ben and Theresa were trying for a baby. Chief Celia and Supervisor Dick were getting closer, Mai had forgiven Buzz for gambling away their savings and taken him back, and Jerome had returned to the classical music he had abandoned so long ago. Plus in the alternate ending, if we had gotten the third season we wanted and deserved, Marin and Jack were going to find Lynn’s baby girl (Lynn being Jack’s ex-girlfriend, though Jack wasn’t the daddy) on their doorstep…so would they have adopted her, or would Ben and Theresa have adopted her? Or even Sara and Eric? Would Patrick have won Annie back? Would Ben and Theresa have conceived? Or would Jane and Sam have conceived a baby “Plow Guy” or “Plow Girl”? Cash received a kidney from Terri–what would have happened with their friendship? And would Cash have found a woman in Elmo, since Marin was with Jack where she belonged?

This is what ABC robbed us of, and we, and the cast, crew, writers and producers of Men in Trees, deserved a lot better than that!

I love Men in Trees and hope it can be saved. I also like Jericho and October Road. Why do the networks think that everyone wants to only watch the reality shows?
