For many, many years, actors would take roles on television shows with the hope that they were well on their way to becoming major movie stars. As television has evolved and become a more prominent medium over the last few years, many talented movie stars have crossed back over into the television world.

These days, it's fairly common to see stars such as Patrick Dempsey and Katherine Heigl on both the big and small screens. Actors can have their cake and eat it these days! At this year's Oscars, several television stars walked the red carpet and attended those glamorous parties.
