New 90210 Spinoff Details

The pilot hasn't been written, yet less than a week after the announcement that the CW was looking to make a spinoff of the wildly popular '90s series Beverly Hills 90210, details are already emerging about the central storyline and major characters.

Both The Hollywood Reporter and Variety are reporting that the series will revolve around the Mills family. The Mills are moving back to Beverly Hills from the Midwest. Harry and Celia Mills have two 16-year-olds named Annie and Dixon. Dixon (the troublemaker) was adopted and Annie is their biological child. Harry's alcoholic mother Tabitha, a former movie star, will be the catalyst that brings the Mills to Beverly Hills.

Rounding out the BH gang:

• Daphne and Max Silver: 16-year-old Daphne lives with her 20-something brother Max since their parents (David and Donna?) can't seem to stay off a cruise ship long enough to parent their children.
• Fellow teen characters include: Navid Shirazi, Ethan Ward and Naomi Bennett.

Since the show is in its infancy stage, please note that the character names and central storylines may very well change by the time the pilot is filmed. It sure does seem as though the CW is actively pursuing this project, so I'd say the chances of this series making it to the fall schedule are excellent.
