Monk Actor Stanley Kamel Has Died

Last Thursday, Stanley Kamel joined his fellow Monk stars at USA Network's Upfront Presentation and several days later, the actor has passed away at the age of 65.

CNN reports that Kamel was found dead in his Hollywood Hills home on Tuesday after suffering a heart attack. According to TMZ, emergency responders were called to Kamel's home around 4:00pm on Tuesday after being found by his agents.

Kamel had a long and distinguished resume that included roles on The West Wing, Melrose Place, Beverly Hills 90210, Days of Our Lives, L.A. Law, Murder One and ER. Since 2002, Kamel has starred on USA Network's Monk as the detective's psychiatrist Dr. Charles Kroger.

USA Network issued the following statement on the passing of this talented actor.
USA is deeply saddened by the news of Stanley Kamel's passing. Stanley was an amazingly talented and extremely kind man, and an important member of the USA family. He will be sorely missed.
Our hearts go out to Kamel's family and friends.

I lost a friend I never had in Stanley Kamel. I learned s lot about him from mutual schoolmates, and watched his career, although I chose not to meet/bother him at his 40th class reunion.

I enjoyed watching him on Monk and it saddens me that he had a heartattack… He will be greatly missed and my thoughts are with his family.

It came as a complete shock to me to learn of his death…Monk is my favorite show and I looked forward to his sessions with this great actor.
