What Was the Most Heart-Wrenching Cancellation of the Season?
Wednesday June 4, 2008
Ever since the Internet craze began, passionate TV fans from all walks of life have found a way to band together and get vocal with the networks about the status of their favorite show. By forming fan campaigns to save a series from cancellation, the networks have become aware that the almighty Nielson ratings don't necessarily tell the entire story.
As each season ends, the networks must make those tough and highly unpopular decisions about the fate of any series not performing well in the ratings war. While each series has some type of dedicated fan base, there are those special shows that generate a massive Internet fan base and those are the fans that will do whatever it takes to save their show.
This television season brought about more fan campaigns than in any other year, but when the networks delivered their upfront presentations last month, with the exception of Reaper, none of the shows they were fighting to save were spared. However, if you think they've given up, you've got another thing coming!
Earlier this week, I created a poll about the best season finale and the October Road fans came out in droves to express their feelings about the fate of the series. After chatting with one of the campaign organizers, I learned that their desire to save this show has only increased since ABC announced their fall schedule.
In addition to their "Pay October Road Forward" campaign, a snail mail writing effort is now in full force. Be sure to visit the October Road campaign headquarters to learn how you can get involved.
Needless to say, with one cancellation after another, this season has been particularly brutal for these viewers.
What do you think was the most heart-wrenching cancellation this season? Vote in our poll and post your comments below.

October Road, BY FAR, is the biggest heart break, not only of the season, but of a lifetime. The “roadies” are untouchable and will not go down without a diehard fight. There is way too much talent invested in this show to have it sit on shelves in the archive room at ABC. We WILL bring this show back! We won’t let a bump in the Road bring us down!
By far the most heart wrenching is October Road. Not only in the show itself, but the fact that we were left hanging and the fans have been still coming out in droves. New fans are discovering this show due to the campaign, even 12 weeks after the last episode. Thanks so much Rachel. You are by far the best blogger out there and if they have awards for such a category, you would win it hands down. I’d vote for you!!!
By far, hands down, October Road! I miss this show so much! It was such an incredibly addicting one! I have recruited several new viewers with the season I purchased and now plan on donating it to accomplish our plan. I have had my children color leaves and mailed them to ABC with quotes on each one from the show. I will keep fighting!! Long Live the Road!!!
The cancellation of October Road completely broke my heart. ABC has a really bad reputation for giving us shows that we fall in love with and then taking them away before their time. I’m STILL not over losing My So Called Life and it will take me ages to get over October Road. I really connected with the characters and the story line. Maybe it is because I am the same age as the main characters and that I am from a small town too. I just loved Knights Ridge and I will miss is terribly if it never comes back to us. Please….bring back the Road!
Heart Wrenching, you nailed it on the head! What a devastating way to end October Road! I for one can not imagine the last we see of Eddie and Janet is him yelling at her and throwing her out of his hospital room. Not to mention, all of the other unanswered questions and story lines that were unfinised. ABC really did a diservice to the loyal and many fans of October Road. Hopefully our questions will be answered with the promised wrap up and I’m still writing my letters, cause you never know. Thanks for your support!
October Road! I am heartbroken that this was canceled. I am still in disbelief. October Road is by far my favorite show. I watch a lot of t.v. but it was the only show I couldn’t miss. The characters found their way into my heart. I can’t imagine a season without them. I want more Eddie and Janet, more moments between Sam and Nick, I want Big Cat to be revealed, Owen needs to reunite with his family, I could go on and on.
Thanks for giving us this poll. I want October Road back!
Thanks for writing about our continued efforts Rachel! You are right about one thing, the Roadies are not giving up! October Road was definitely the most heart wrenching cancellation, but I still have a lot of fight left in me. Bring back October Road!
October Road by far! The only other show I watched besides that, on this list, was Las Vegas. That is a kicker, too!
I am hoping ABC decides to listen to the fans and bring this show back!
October Road is definitely the most heart wrenching cancellation for me, not just this season but ever. I fell in love with Knight’s Ridge and its residents, completely and irrevocably. I wasn’t planning to. In fact, I resisted, hard, getting involved with another show, but this one pulled me in. The worst part about the cancellation is that the storylines were building to a pitch, and then the rug was pulled out from under us, which is never fair. This was the best television show I have ever seen, and its cancellation is a travesty.
Rachel, I have to thank you from the bottom of my heart. You have shown us such recpect by blogging about our efforts to save our wonderful show, OCTOBER ROAD! It means so much to us to see that some one out there SEE’S US. My good friend Donna V. suggested we send reading glasses to ABC/Disney, so the would be able to see us. It is so sad to have the president of ABC call us a “small core group of fans.” if feel’s like a slap in the face, to me! But that is not stopping me or any of the other Roadies from fighting to bring OCTOBER ROAD BACK! We need all of america to hear us and help. If you are a person that loves to root and fight for the underdog, then WE ROADIES are the group for you. Step up America and help bring one of the most American television drama’s ever to come to t.v. since NBC’s Friends! IMO, america is going to have to start fighting the networks to keep quality show’s or they will continue to give us Trash Reality t.v. Thanks so much, Rachel for all you have done to get our voices to be heard! MK
Rachel, I have to first say to you, thank you, so very much for backing all of us up and doing all you can to help us get the word out about October Road. It means so much to me personally, and to all of us. Thank you so much for creating this poll.
I am devasted about October Road. It’s by far my favorite show and has truly made an impact in my life. I can’t say it enough, October Road is the best show and deserves to be on tv for many many seasons. We are not giving up on the show, the writers/crew, the cast and each other. We are all in this together, and together we will fight like there is no tomorrow. So many people love this show and everyday more people are joining in to fight for the show. All we ask for is another season, to prove to you that the ratings have increased and there are more people who will watch this show. We have done the advertising, and we are proud to do it. Please, just give us back our show, and let us show you that October Road is the hit we all know it is. There are so many shows on tv right now, that are terrible, and then there is October Road. A show, that brings people together, makes me people want to be a better person, in their lives, with their friends & family. After you watch an episode of October Road, you feel so good, and that the next episode can’t come fast enough. It’s heartwarming, real, touching and funny, exactly what a show should be. Even though October Road was on Monday’s at 10pm, which is not a good night and time, it STILL was able to get 3 million viewers and more. I think that is pretty darn good considering the time, night, etc. October Road, the writers/crew, the cast and each other are all worth fighting for.
LONG LIVE OCTOBER ROAD!!!
Without a doubt October Road is the most heart wrenching cancellation. How could ABC do this to us. It still it such a raw wound that they would take such an excellent show and cancel it. Honestly what is ABC doind or thinking give this show a season 3 especially after that season finale we need answers!!
OCTOBER ROAD is my answer. It breaks my heart thinking there would be no more OR.That’s why we won’t stop until this amazing show is back!
Rachel, thank you very much for this,it means a lot to us!!!!Long live October Road!!!!
diffently the hardest news to take in, I love this show and still hold hope of its return, thank you for posting this article and new poll……
October Road is missed so badly. It is a great show, well written, well acted and gives you a wonderful feeling after watching it. This type of show is what the networks should be looking for and supporting. The fans are fighting for it and viewership is growing. It is a quality TV show and we love it!!
OCTOBER ROAD was the most heart wrenching cancellation I have ever experienced in my life. I have never fought to bring a show back before but for this show, I am a letter writing, emailing, poll voting, fan crazed, fool. I think October Road is one of the best shows ever made for tv. So fight on roadies!
Rachel, thank you for your continued support. This is definetly the most heart wrenching cancellation. I have never felt this way about a show before. It is such a down to earth show and the characters and story lines are so easy to relate to.
The Roadies as a group are such a great bunch of people which only proves how much this show is an influence on us. We will continue to work towards having October Road return to us. I won’t settle for anything less.
I have to say I disagree with everyone. The most heart wrenching cancelation this season was the cancelation of Moonlight!
If October Road is indeed done, the season finale was very heart wrenching. There are way too many storylines that did not get wrapped up. So many questions leaving the fans hanging.
October Road is my favorite series of all time. You can tell by reading the articles about the writers that they really feel like these characters are real people and want them to end up happy. I’ve never seen such wonderful character development in a drama series. It sounds goofy. But you kind of feel like you know these characters and when talkign to friends about the show – I say things like “he would never do that” or “I can’t believe she would say that” like they are real people. I love this show so much. Thanks for writing about the fans trying to save it. Hopefully ABC will listen.
Even the Devil likes the road. Found this show one monday night when there was a blowout football game. It reminds me of my friends and neighborhood. Loved all the music as well. They made a mistake with this one. Shouldn’t have cxld this show.
Hey Rachel do you have any information about the possible 1 hour finale planned for October Road?
I am heartbroken over the cancellation of October Road! Hopefully ABC will reconsider and realize they really had something special here!
I am completely torn up over the cancellation of October Road. How could anyone not love this show? It’s funny, heartwarming, real, and touching. I just hope ABC reconsiders and gives it another chance. We all deserve another chance. If not, than I hope another network will pick it up. October Road deserves to be on tv! We are not giving up. We will continue to fight for the show, the cast, each other, and the writers & crew. October Road is a gem!
Save October Road!
October Road, hands down, the more heart wrenching cancellation AND the best season finale! October Road is beyond special. It is a show with heart and soul. The actors are the best of the best and the characters are people you either feel like you know or you wish you did. Bring October Road back!
Thanks for the good word about October Road. We’re not nearly through and when we’re done we will have October Road back on the air!
Heart-wrenching to say the least. I have never been so devastated over the cancellation of a Tv show. I am still getting over the shock of it all. It is simply amazing to me that abc would be willing to throw out a show that did not even have a fighting chance. This show is like no other currently on the air. It is real show about real people, with true to life issues that the fans can relate to. In addition, the writing is smart and witty: Add in of course the wonderful music that they utilized so well in all of the right places, October Road was pure perfection for primetime. Come on abc, do the right thing and bring back this wonderful show. LONG LIVE OCTOBER ROAD
October Road was by far the most heart-wrenching. I don’t know if I can ever watch TV again without my favorite show. How could this happen? The almighty Nielson’s were sooo wrong this time! With that time slot and the strike and all else, it didn’t really have a chance to gain a huge audience. But with the “Pay October Road Forward” campaign along with everything else, we so hope to bring it back for several more seasons. So many questions that were never answered!
Bring back “THE ROAD”!
By far this was the most heart wrenching cancellation I have been thru still in disbelief and not willing to except. How can they even consider this a unsuccessful show. If it does not have the ratings it deserves. It’s because it’s on a night that no one knew about. But the Roadies are 3 million strong they are the most devoted group. We have a passion to keep the best show on the air. Bring October Road!
Thank you Rachel for always writing about October Road. It means a lot to all of us that you take time out to write about what we are doing to get our show back.
October Road is the most heart wrenching cancellation. I really miss this show a lot, but I will keep fighting for it. October Road is a great show and it should still be on the air. The music is wonderful to listen to and the cast is amazing.
I just love Moonlight and was so incredulous when it was cancelled. Still can hardly believe it but fans are working hard to get a second season for this wonderful show.
I loved many of those shows, but I am upset the most about the cancellation of Moonlight. It had not even one full season, and it was so good.
My heart goes out to the fans of October Road and wish them the best of luck with their efforts to get their show back!
While I feel for the Roadies, the most heart-wrenching cancellation for me was CBS’s decision to cancel Moonlight. In a television landscape that’s sadly lacking in quality programming, I’m still stumped at the decision to cancel a show that won the PCA for Best New Drama, consistently won its timeslot in the Friday night ‘death slot’ and pulled 7.5-8 million viewers every episode.
Heartwrenching is the word for October Road’s cancellation. It is such a great show and so different from all the other shows on TV. Still fighting for it, hoping ABC will realize the error and decide to do something with it and if it is only to produce a decent 2 hour send off.
Hands down, October Road! I am still beside myself after hearing the news of the cancellation. it makes absolutely no sense to me that an excellent show like October Road would be canceled. We aren’t giving up. We will not take this lying down. October Road is too important, special and amazing of a show to let it go. I have never come across a show that it’s cast, writers, crew and fans are so close, and truely care about each other. I think that in itself is worthy of being on tv. October Road is the best and deserves to be on tv for a very very long time. We all want to visit Knight’s Ridge every week, for many years.
Rachel, thank you so much for writing up this great article and creating this poll. It means so much to all of us. You are awesome, and truly appreciated.
LONG LIVE OCTOBER ROAD!
Moonlight! We have fought extremely hard for this show, we gave blood, donated money to charities, rallied across the world, and among many many other things! This show won a people’s choice award! It was an amazing show!
I see that CBS is not the only back stabbing network. I am sorry for the October Road fans… you at least got a full season. Moonlight was so hard to loose. Our characters didn’t have a chance to show us who they were.
The most heart wrenching cancellation for me was Moonlight. The show had wonderful rich characters, wonderful storylines – there was a depth to the show. Following the ratings it always finished first in it’s timeslot. When the writers went on strike the show disappeared and in it’s place Truth or Consequences – there were never any reruns to speak of. It’s a shame the network gave up on us – the rating for Friday’s at 9:00 p.m. haven’t been the same since. Oh and have you seen the new show “Swingtown” major STINKER!!
BTW I didn’t watch October Road – but you guys didn’t get a fair shake either – I thought about watching it but they moved it around and took it off so much I could keep up with it. Good luck to you guys too!
Moonlight will be missed. It was the best new show and the winner of the People’s Choice for best new drama. The cast was wonderful, I hate cbs
why aren’t my comments showing. I left 3 for Moonlight
Thanks Seleneducoudray! That’s really nice of you to say.
It’s nice that even someone who is not a fan of October Road sees how it was moved around and everything. THAT is why the ratings weren’t very good. October Road is such an amazing show and deserves to be on tv for many many years. Keep fighting everyone!!
SAVE OCTOBER ROAD!!!
Hey Seleneducoudray, IMO the networks didn’t give either of our shows a fair shake, and I did tune in to Swingtown just to see what it was about and your’e right it stunk, turned it off after 15 minutes. Why do the networks put on these crazy shows, I will never understand.
Moonlight was the biggest heartbreak of all! The storyline was getting richer in the playing of the characters, the chemistry between the leading stars was phenomenal. It was a thrill ride that never ended. And Moonlight was winning the ratings for its time slot helping CBS to win Friday nights!
The cancellation of Moonlight was a stab in the fans backs. We are still fighting for it and hopefully it will work but don’t get too attached with any new show of cbs’s. They really don’t care about the fans in my opinion.
Moonlight, man!!! That was just so sad at the ending of Sonata thinking that it might be the end of Moonlight. And I totally agree with you pkdmlfan:
“The cancellation of Moonlight was a stab in the fans backs. We are still fighting for it and hopefully it will work but don’t get too attached with any new show of cbs’s. They really don’t care about the fans in my opinion.”
Losing our Moonlight before we had a chance to see a second season was just so difficult for so many people all over the world. It truly is a wonderful show that has united people of all ages & languages! Moonlight is definitely the most Heart Wrenching Cancellation of the Season by far!
Moonlight was the most heart wreching cancellation. I’ve NEVER had an attachment to a TV show like I have to Moonlight. To have invested all the time into watching the show, caring about the characters- forming a ‘relationship’ if you will- well,to have it taken away was just very crushing.
I have to say the one that sucker punched me was Moonlight. I have never been so entranced by a show in my life. I planned my Friday around it. Everything we heard in the press from CBS pointed to us being renewed. CBS never advertised the show really but the viewers kept the ratings about the same every week it was on. Moonlight won its time slots and demos each week.
Then when the final decision was suppose to go out, CBS teased us by saying only 2 more Micks left, but putting season finale on the one promo they showed right before the show ran on Friday nights.
I feel total betrayed, used and lied to by CBS. I will not give them my business again. What they dont understand is what makes a show popular besides advertising is loyalty from the viewers. If the viewers don’t care if the show is on then you won’t be able to sustain the ratings. They also don’t know that you can only treat people poorly for so long before they turn away from you completely. I and many many others have turned our backs to CBS, I will no longer view their programs or support their advertisers. If money talks, then I will speak with my wallet.
As for the show, just think it was on CBS for one season but it brought millions of people from across the world together. We have Blood Drives, give food to homeless shelters, donate toys, sign people up to be bone marrow donors. All in the name of Moonlight. A show like that is worth saving.
Moonlight was by far the most heartbreaking. I have never loved a show this much. It is well written, well-acted and beautifully shot. It wasn’t a big hit but it managed to gain a passionate fanbase and consistently win its time slot despite minimal promotion from CBS. I still can’t believe that CBS canceled this show when every indication they gave us was that we would get a second season.
I think it is great that you are promoting the October Road fan efforts but Moonlight fans are also been attempting to save our show. We’ve purchased ads in Variety and The Hollywood Reporter. We will have two bulletin boards up in the near future. We conducted blood drives, bone marrow donor registration drives and Red Cross donation drives. There are also a number of fan rallies planned around the U.S. There are more details available at Moonlight-United.com or Forums.Moonlightline.com.
None of my real favorites died this season. Jericho was some silly fun, and I’m sorry it’s gone. And I’d been waiting to see if Journeyman and Moonlight would survive the first season before watching. Now that they haven’t, I probably won’t. It’s just too hard to fall in love with a new series and get it yanked out from underneath.
As hard as I try, I cannot wrap my head around the cancellation of “MOONLIGHT”
The series had everything….Alex O’Loughlin, Sophia Myles, Jason Dohring. A cast that complemented each other with so much charisma, class, sophistication.
I believe Matt Roush of T.V.Guide summed it up brilliantly–(quote)”CBS blew it”(unquote)
MOONLIGHT!!!! I’m still totally in shock. CBS is dead do me. Not for spite, but because, you know, “fool me once, shame on you…fool me twice, shame on me”. I won’t ever watch CBS again. No need to invest my time or money with idiot backstabbers.
We’re still looking for a home though. NEVER GIVE UP!!!
October Road fans, I loved that show as well, but Moonlight was my baby. Good luck with your campaign. Hopefully both our shows will find a home soon. In solidarity to our fellow Network Idiocy Victims, I will also ban ABC until they come to their senses.
Long live Moonlight!!!
By far the most heartbreaking cancellation for me and so many others was MoonLight.
The story of Mick and Beth had so much more to tell….the cast was exceptional, especially the amazingly talented and gorgeous Alex O’Loughlin. No doubt he will go on to other equally as good roles, but CBS sure made a huge blunder by not allowing him to continue the ever captivating and entertaining “Mick St. John”. He’ll always be TV’s most awesome vamp!!
October was my Heart Wrenching cancellation. I can’t let it go without a fight, so I remain strong and determined. I hope that ABC will see the Roadies dedication to this gem and reverse their decision to cancel. Long live October Road!
Moonlight was the most amazing show I have ever watched! It had everything–mystery, action, romance, humor, fantasy. It had great writng and a wonderful cast. It was the highlight of my week to watch it and I hung on every word because it was that mesmerizing. I have never felt that way about any other show, and I am really deeply mourning the loss. It makes me angry the
way these networks treat their shows by not giving them a fair shot and not paying attention to what their viewers want.
MOST DEFINITELY MOONLIGHT! This show had everything! Great cast, chemistry, depth, humor, drama, romance. The show touched something in me that NO OTHER TV SHOW ever has. I STILL can not wrap my head around the fact that it was cancelled. A very big huge loss.
In my opinion, there is something wrong with both networks. The fans of both October Road and Moonlight are intelligent, well spoken, dedicated fans. Why don’t they see that? I am so frustrated with tv right now, I could puke.
ditto to all those who wrote comments…I cannot state enough that Moonlight was the best show to hit television in years….so many shows clone and regurgitate that I get sick of it all but Moonlight was refreshing and new …. so easy to become a fan…great storytelling and great performances by the show’s stars….and how could CBS let go of gorgeous Alex O’Loughlin !!!??? I pray the fans can get another venue to resurrect my beloved Moonlight !!!!!!!!!!!
Moonlight was the first show I actually felt like crying over when CBS announced it’s cancellation. I still can not believe it.
Moonlight was the best show on CBS on Friday night. How do you justify cancelling a show which won People’s Choice for Best New Drama? I am heartbroken over CBS doing this to 8 million plus fans.
Moonlight’s cancellation broke my heart! This is the only time I burst into tears about the loss of a show. A must not miss show that only had 16 episodes. So powerful and addictive. How could you cancel a show that had witty humor,a riveting romance, good drama, action and the most beautiful cinematography and sets on TV. The talented actors,Alex, Sophia and Jason had the most mesmerizing chemistry on screen. And what a sweet love story between Mick and Beth! Old fashioned and sexy. Moonlight won its slot consistently on death TV night, Friday, and we were 7.5 to 8 million strong. It attracted women and men of all ages and races. It is adored in over 36 countries around the world.
I feel utterly betrayed by CBS. Back stabbing and lying come to my mind. I sympathize with October Road fans because networks have lost their way as to what’s important. Advertisers will feel the heat too.Give the consumers what they want or go broke! Since CBS seem to hell-bent on making stupid business decisions even with all the overwhelming stats Moonlight had (PCA Award for Best New Drama, for one) I have no intentions of getting attached to another CBS series. Quality shows on that network are cancelled, unless it has CSI attached to it. Dumb!
Go on Moonlightline/MoonlightFans sites and help us fight for our genius show. Give the TV execs something to think about. We will not shut up!!
Moonlight was one of the very few (maybe 2 or three) shows that I would tape if I couldn’t be at home to watch it. The cancellation is ridiculous. Why cancel a show that consistently won its timeslot, drew in millions of viewers a week, was shown in so many countries, and won a People’s Choice Award? It was well written, with a fantastic cast. I hope that the fans who are campaigning to get another network to pick it up are successful!
There was a place that existed
In a perpetual autumn dream
Where color swirled and twisted
In rustling wind-blown streams.
In the gingerbread castles that lined the flanks
Of every lane and row
Dwelled those for whom I would give thanks
To have the chance to know.
Gone for now are those idyllic creations,
The streets empty and cold
Save for this house made of information
Where I long for October Road.
MOONLIGHT was the heartbreaker, stab in the chest with a wooden stake one for me! They led us to believe it was staying and then they yanked it out from under us without warning. I agree with the other comments about the networks these days. They don’t even pretend to listen to what the viewers are watching and wanting. If Moonlight had been named Moonlight Law and Order – Mick St. John’s CSI, maybe CBS would have kept it! But then, I probably wouldn’t have watched it!
The Most heartwrenching cancellation has to be Moonlight. A vampire show that was original and unique with a cast who’s chemistry sizzled. It’s cancellation after only 16 episodes feels like someone handing you a book with half the chapters ripped out. This show has an international following, I myself am from Scotland, and we are united in our efforts to find a new home for Moonlight. A final message to the powers that be at CBS, YOU HAVE MADE A MASSIVE ERROR IN JUDGEMENT GUYS AND I FEAR IT MAY JUST TURN AROUND AND SINK IT’S FANGS INTO YOUR MISGUIDED BEHINDS! VAMPIRE SOLIDARITY RAH RAH RAH!
Join the fight to save Moonlight at moonlightline.com and let’s show TPTB what people power can do.
This should give the networks a fright.
The forces of Light and Darkness unite!
I just love Moonlight and I cannot live without this amazing show, I want a second season more than anything in the world,Mick and Beth are the most sexy, beautiful and hottest couple on TV and I want more from them in a second season, this show won a people’s choice award, It is an awesome show, Moonlight’s cancellation broke my heart I fell utterly betrayed by CBS, please bring back “Moonlight” I want back!!!!
This was just a really crappy year for new shows. Moonlight of course will be the show I miss most but here’s hoping for a movie at least. I’ll also miss Women’s Murder Club and New Amsterdam seemed interesting. The networks really should have given shows more of a chance since things were all wonky this season.
STOP IT with the ridiculous October Road cancellation!!
The absolute most heart-breaking cancellation is ‘Moonlight’…..bring back our favorite P.I. Mick St. John!!!
I’m still sick with disgust with CBS for cancelling MOONLIGHT. Moonlight was a refreshing rescue from all the ‘reality TV’ junk, and the cookie-cutter shows. It was different, and creative, twisting together several genres to create something wonderful and addictive!
The story was enthralling and getting better still. The cast had chemistry, and kept me wanting more. And yes, I was in the 18-49 demo, but god forbid – I live in Canada! So I guess I don’t count!
So let’s see, great cast, unique story, People’s Choice Award, TV Guide Awards, many loyal fans helping CBS win Friday nights, charities like food and blood drives… oh yeah, I totally see why they’d cancel the show… NOT!!!
You know, I was a Jericho ‘Nut’, and then Moonlight came along, and I thought it was CBS’ saving grace… Now, there’s just no point in getting into another CBS show. Even if they could get another show as great as Moonlight (which I doubt!) they’ll just yank it anyway!
Moonlight for sure! Such a phenomenal piece of tv that will have everlasting affects:(
Being fans of cancelled shows is like receiving awards
For not being among the mindless hordes
Who just watch television until it’s time for bed,
Contently swallowing whatever they’re fed.
Ok, have you seen the votes for October Road? Yeah, what was it, 10%? LOOK AT MOONLIGHT!!!!!! 54%!!!! Why even bother asking the question, “What was the most heart-breaking cancellation?” ARE YOU CRAZY?!?!?!?!?! Moonlight was so great!
Heart-breaking doesn’t cover it. I devote my life to 3 things. Harry Potter, Twilight, and Moonlight. I skipped my biggest school dance to stay home and watch Moonlight. I had a Moonlight party to celebrate when it started again after the writers strike. I made a petition for it to come back again, and mailed it to both the CEO and President of CBS. WHAT DON’T YOU GET ABOUT THIS CBS?!?!?! MOONLIGHT WAS THE GREATEST THING THAT’S HAPPENED SINCE J. K. ROWLING PICKED UP A PEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Who’s with me on this? You better all be raising your hands. I’m sure many many many of you have read the Harry Potter books and fallen in love with them. Who went to midnight releases? Who eagerly waits for the movies? Well you know what? If you were one of those people, then you might, JUST MIGHT, understand how important this show is too me!
CBS, how will anyone trust you after this? We watched the show, sat down every Friday and watched it, and what do you do? CANCEL IT! My heart has been torn from my body and stomped on the ground by your company!!!!!!!!!!! WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT!?!?
How could you do that?
Besides, Moonlight didn’t get a fair chance. It was the first season. I understand that for the first season of a new show, it can be a lot of trial and error. But don’t you get it?!?! This was the opposite! It was a trial and immediate success!!!! Even though it DID rock the history of television, it didn’t have the chance a show like Moonlight truly deserves! It just started, when the writer’s strike happened. We were just getting into it, really getting into it. I had just admitted to myself that I was completely obsessed, when it stopped for weeks. WEEKS!!! Then, when it started again, YOU GIVE IT 4 WEEKS, AND THEN IT’S OVER. over. How could you do that? Didn’t you see Alex O’Loughlin’s letter? Didn’t that mean anything to you?
The cancelation of Moonlight broke my heart
. Such a wonderful show , with so much potential
After “Moonlight” was canceled, I vowed never to watch CBS again. Then I realized “Moonlight” was the only CBS show I’ve watched in years and years. Enough said.
Moonstruck for me, was a great show for me and the wife to watch on Friday nights when the little one is asleep, and no work in the morning.
Sorry meant Moonlight
When CBS cancelled Moonlight they may as well have ripped my heart out of my chest, thrown it on the ground and jumped up and down on it… that’s how I felt when I heard the news of its cancellation.. I’m totally devastated! We’ll keep fighting until we get Moonlight back on the air! Moonlight WILL rise again!
October Road was my favorite show since it aired. It is bright and witty and fun. It makes you laugh and makes you cry. It is a good example of what quality tv is.
My family also watches Moonlight, so both these cancellations are disappointing to me. I hope both shows return.
PLEASE BRING BACK OCTOBER ROAD!!I MISS IT SO MUCH!!!!!!!PLEASE PLEASE BRING IT BACK!!!!
The cancellation of October Road totally broke my heart. It is my favorite show,.ABC needs to bring this show back.
For me the cancellation of Moonlight is devastating. I haven’t developed an attachment for a TV show like this in the past 25 years. I think Moonlight should have been given a chance to in a non strike filled year and with CBS giving it the promotion it deserved. Heck the first year Mash was on (and that show had the most watched final episode ever) it almost didn’t make it into the top 50. Shows need a chance to develop their audience and Moonlight didn’t really have that chance. In addition with networks cancelling beloved shows that have an audience, people are unlikely to want to get attached to a new show.
I also felt that CBS led us to believe they were renewing the program and then stabbed us in the back at the last minute.
I feel sorry for the fans of October Road and hope we both do well in our fight to get our shows back on the air.
But it is Moonlight I am crying for.
MOONLIGHT was by far the most cruel cancellation. It was never treated right by CBS. In a season interrupted by the writers strike, the show still managed to continue to attract viewers, loyal fans like me, while other established shows lost viewers by the millions. 8 MILLION fans can’t be wrong. CBS lead us to believe the show was headed for a second season, then cancelled it coldly out of the blue.
With fans rallying across the country, organizing charity blood drives and food drives, CBS should be feeling the sting. I hope another network, like Sci-Fi, picks up the series and snags the millions of fans CBS threw away.
I think “Moonlight” would be a great fit with FX, and given FX’s ability to produce really good shows, wouldn’t it be a nice kick in the butt to CBS, which seemed to go out of its way to humiliate “Moonlight?”
no se por k cancelaron la serie si esta buenisima pxx!!! alex 0′ loughlin un papacito
mmm……espero k emopiexe muy pronto la 2º season px , tiene k dar para mas …..
What is wrong with the networks? There seems to be more unrest and unhappiness over canceled shows this year than ever before. Poor decisions were made.
My heart breaks for the loss of October Road but I see that the Moonlight fans feel just as devastated.
How can networks do this to their aucience? In the case of October Road we never really got any closure or resolution. What a shame.
Moonlight cancellation was the biggest hearbreak for me. It was enough to join millions of other Moonlight fans to save the show. Moonlight rally will be taking place in several major cities around the country on June 14th. For more information on rally go to http://forums.moonlightline.com/viewforum.php?f=440.
Moonlight cancelled! I am still in shock. This was a great show with great acting, action, humor, love, and fantasy. What is the matter with CBS?
I join all the international fans who join the American fans who protest about the cancellation of Moonlight here and in all the fan sites where we are fighting to bring this wonderful show back. Nothing on TV compares in creativity since Star Trek, the Next Generation. Real entertainment! All possible human emotions transmitted to us by the most amazing actor we have seen for ages and his co-stars. A show people from all cultures can join to admire and feel together. We need it back!
i was gutted when i found out that they had cancelled moonlight!!! watching the last episode was stomach churning..im praying they come to their senses and give it a stay…there has been so much support for the show, surely we cant all be wrong!!! BRING BACK MOONLIGHT!!!!
MOONLIGHT is the best show to come along-EVER! The fact that the Crappy Broadcast System cancelled it is criminal. I RARELY watched anything on that channel and, after this, I have boycotted them for ever. SAVE MOONLIGHT!
Definetly people…. it was MOONLIGHT the most heart-wrenching cancellation of this season!!!
I feel your pain Moonlighters but for me the most heart breaking is October Road. I can’t understand how networks can cancel such a good show. Yeah we had 2 seasons, but both seasons were so short they only add up to 19 episodes. It was the move to Monday night that killed this show, if they had left it on Thursday, no way would October Road have lost all those viewers. Bring back October Road!
The cancellation of Moonlight upset me more than any show being canceled in quite a few years. It was by far the best new show of the season on any network. It was by far the best show on any network period. I so hope someone else picks it up!!
I still cannot believe ABC cancelled OCTOBER ROAD. It was such a wonderful show in every way and I loved it from the first!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will never watch anything on ABC again.
I
LOVE
MOONLIGHT,
MICK AND BETH
ARE
SO
HOT
AND
WANT
BACK,
PLEASE
SAEV MOONLIGHT!!!!!!!!!!
Heartwrenching does not even BEGIN to cover the feelings I have over Moonlight being cancelled. Betrayed, lied to, kicked in the gut…you can add all those feelings too. I am in the catagory that CBS says they are trying to draw on Friday nights, female 18-49. If they think The Ex-List will keep me watching they have another thought coming!!!
Moonlight is the first show that I have ever fought to keep. And I have fought. I’ve signed petitions, mailed cards, gave blood, etc. And I will keep doing these things until CBS figures out how horribly they have screwed up! I hope another network picks up the show, along with all 8.5 million viewers.
I just i love Mick and Beth and I want back, please, I cannot live without my Moonlight!!!, I love this amazing show
I have to say some of the comments left by the ML fan’s about October Road and it’s fan’s just warms my heart. I think both these show’s were never given a far shake! October Road never had a full season, ever!! We had 6 episodes in the first season, which was a mid-season drop in. Then we had a huge break and were brought back November in the Monday night 10pm “DEATH SLOT”! Now I’m not going to get into which netwok treated which fan’s the worst, cuz I think CBS and ABC are doing a horrible job at listening to their fan’s. But October Road got a second season with 13 epy’s. There was an order for the back 9 epy’s but because of the writers strike and the ratings ABC cancelled the back 9. We got the biggest cliff hanger of a Season finale ever to be shown, next to who shot J.R! And now we get nothing! The e.p’s of the show love the fan’s so much they are putting up their own personal money and giving us a 15 min. wrap up, to be maybe aired on Utube! I mean come on people both Moonlight and October Road have been treated like the ugly redheaded step children of the networks. IT’S NOT RIGHT FOR EITHER SHOW! Before ML fan’s got wind of this poll, October Road had over 65% of the vote! Please don’t belittle the fan’s of these shows, we are all to classy to do that! I want October Road, Moonlight, and Men in Trees to be brought back to television. They are all high quality programming and t.v needs them right now. The summer line ups are rediculous!!! MK
Please bring Moonlight back!!!! I love this sexy, beautiful, amazing, awesome and hottest show, the talented actors Alex and Sophia have the most mesmerizing chemistry on the screen and I want to see them in a second season, please, please, please, please, please, please…………!!! SAVE MOONLIGHT!!!
Thanks Rachel for this. I think that October Road was the most heart wrenching. First with the storylines and how they left us hanging, then how ABC could even think of canceling such a great show without even giving it a real chance. I love this show and I hope that the Roadies can bring it back if for nothing else, a mid season pick up.
Finally a show that shows great friendships with guys, and they take it off. October Road by far was the greatest show out there. Everyone needs to write their letters and send their emails to TPTB and let them know of their mistake to take this show off the air. Most heart wrenching cancellation – October Road by far!
Most heart wrenching is October Road hands down! I mean, finally a show that isn’t a reality show, or doctor show, lawyer show and something we can relate to and they take it away. Give October Road one more chance ABC!! Everyone, write your letters and let the network know that we want this show back!
October Road is the most heart wrenching. The season 2 finale was unbelievable and had us all on the edge of our seats. Huge cliffhangers and then it got ripped away. If ABC knew they were going to cancel they should have tried to tie up lose ends. Now all the October Road fans are crushed and left hanging. Join the campaign to save October Road. See Rachel’s write up above. THANKS SO MUCH RACHEL
I am so sad that Moonlight was canceled. I am still hoping that some network might pick it up. Heartbreaking!!!!!!!!
The most heart wrenching cancellation totally goes to October Road. It’s a heartwarming, real, touching and funny show. I am still completely heartbroken over the cancellation. But, we aren’t giving up, are we? October Road is the best show and deserves to be on TV. We are going to continue to fight and do whatever we can for the show, each other, the cast, the crew and the writers.
SAVE OCTOBER ROAD!!
The most HEART-wrenching cancelled show for me is October Road. It was short-lived but those who got to see it, fell in love with it. Then they passed it on and those people fell in love with it. It would be sad not to have it come back after spending months trying to save it and always wondering what goes on with all the characters in Knights Ridge. I feel your pain, Men In Trees and ML, keep fighting and maybe someone will finally listen to the viewers. Good luck.
Shows like this are never given a chance. They’re just yanked off the air and the fans are always left shocked and upset. The networks have enough money to keep these shows on the air, why don’t they? Cancel something that’s been on forever and is on its last legs!!!
My two biggest heartbreaks are New Amsterdam and Aliens in America. Not even given a chance at all and two great shows, one funny and sweet, one an interesting concept and a great drama. I knew they wouldn’t last!
I guess we are all in the same position, all of us who watched our beloved shows beeing cancelled with poor excuses (or none, actually).
All of us are making all the efforts for bringing back our favorite shows. In my case is MOONLIGHT, but also October Road, Women’s Murder Clib or Jericho are fighting the same fight here. I think this is clear for all of us.
What I cannot accept is CHEATING!! Yes, CHEATING! Which I’ve been observing for a month in a poll launched by tv.com, where you can obviously can see the Jericho fans cheating on us Moonlight fans by clicking uncountable times in the “good riddance” button just to boycote Moonlight efforts.
I believe that Moonlight fans were also trying to do the same to Jericho by giving “good riddance” votes, but what I saw was that the Jericho fans are more ravious than others… I don’t know, because of… jealousy?
I went there for a whole month voting for Moonlight. Never cared how many votes Jericho (or other show) had, nor voted agains any show whatsoever. But because I saw so much hate (I must call it like that) I gave up on tv.com site for good. After all, its not a simple poll that will give us back or favorite shows. Its us, keeping on fighting strong and clean, and going side by side with other axed tv shows.
PS – please don’t think that I wrote this without knowing what I was saying. As I said I spent 1 entire month on tv.com poll to see what was going on there.
The first time I ever fought for a show was Jericho. It broke my heart to see it canceled again, but fool that I am, I started watching New Amsterdam and Journeyman. Never again! Good new show are repeatedly replaced with garbage. The Neilson ratings are not working and I’m not getting hooked back in.
Maria, I had the same feeling about tv.com/upfronts while I was hanging out there.
I too, gave up on that because you haven’t enough back up to face cheaters (more numerous than fair and clean ones).
Fortunately (not for cheaters, though) this poll cannot be cheated as probably they wished so I’ll stick around here until its over.
HEIL TO MOONLIGHT!!
If any new show awesome it’s MOONLIGHT!!!!! Mick, Beth, Josef, Coraline, Guillermo, Logan, Carl, the cleaners, anyway all MOONLIGHT. I WANT OUR AMAZING SECOND SEASON OF MOONLIGHT!
Maria, you don’t know if it were Jericho fans. There is a big movement of Jericho and Moonlight fans helping each other (they call themselves Moonrangers, look them up). It would be so much better if all the fans of cancelled shows would help each other and not be jealous and demeaning. We could change the way networks pick up their ratings, we could change the way shows are treated if we just helped together.
Francis, I’m aware of that “joint-venture” between the 2 groups of fans, that is why its so hard for me to understand what is goin’ on on tv.com. However and unfortunately nobody can control the whole net users.
My idea is that they are a bunch of fool kids who no nothing else to do than destroy what others built with such passion.
It’s impossible I’m wrong. Just take a look of the speed high-up of Jericho votes and how Moonlight turned from 98% to some 80% in just 1 week.
The votes against Moonlight happened in the very exact moment (at about 2 weeks ago) the Jericho’s votes began to increase.
This is not random or a coincidence, nor made from somebody inside CBS, as somebody commented over there.
So, if you still want to think they all that honest, I can’t do anyhting about it. But I cannot agree.
I just want bring back MOONLIGHT please!
I hope ABC does the right thing and at least helps the executive producers with the finale of October Road.
The executive producers have planned a 15 minute wrap-up of October Road for the fans. They are funding the finale with their own money. While it shows what a class act the production team is it makes ABC look lame and out of touch with viewers.
I have to say I read Alex from Moonlight message to his viewers and he seems like a class act too.
The most heartbreaking for me was Moonlight! But alas I do not have to watch but 1 hour of tv a week now. Almost all my favoite shows were cancelled.
#1. Moonlight
#2. Men in Trees
#3. October Road
The only show I watch that will be on in the fall is Grey’s Anatomy. (And I waited to become a fan until season 1 ended. I was afraid to trust the TV God’s). I will be canceling my cable subscription if Moonlight is not picked up by another channel and just buying books to read. I am so disappointed in the networks that I will NEVER try another show in its first season. Never!!!
Mick and Beth deserves a Second Season, deserves to be saved, please Moonlight is an amazing show and has more of 8 million viewers in the world and we will follow no matter where it airs!!!
JERICHO…..
Alex and Sophia were chosen as one of the ” You Picked ‘Em : 28 TV Castmates With Perfect Chenistry”, and I’m just so happy, I knew it, the sexual tension between them is amazing and awesome, and that’s why and more I want to see more them, please SAVE MOONLIGHT!!! you will not regret
There are many, many fans of Men in Trees who would share my belief that this is one of the best shows on TV in many years, and ABC jerked it around so many times, put it on indefinite hiatuses, and failed to promote the changes. No show could have survived the treatment given Men in Trees! Last Wednesday’s series finale was a very sad day for Men in Trees viewers! ABC blew it!
Bring back Moonlight, My Moonlight, Our Moonlight!!!!
SAVE MICK AND BETH, SAVE MOONLIGHT!!!…
The most heart wrenching cancellation is HANDS DOWN, OCTOBER ROAD! There is no show that even comes close to October Road. We have to keep fighting and never give up. October Road is too amazing and special to all of us, the cast, the crew and the writers, to let it go. We are not backing down, we will continue to do whatever it takes!
LONG LIVE OCTOBER ROAD!
MOONLIGHT was the best show on tv- no question about it. It was like losing a friend of the family when it was cancelled. The horrible network that cancelled it lost my respect and viewership forever. There are MANY fans who are working hard to bring it back and I hope it’s a success.A show this beloved by so many people deserves it! MORE MOONLIGHT!
For me the most heart-wrenching is definitely October Road! I just don’t get how ABC can cancel this show and leave us hanging with that season finale, because that was in now way a series finale! October Road is the best show in my opinion and I hope someone notices and picks it up!
My mom got me started watching MOONLIGHT and I quickly became a MAJOR fan! It was so upsetting to me when it got cancelled. A great show, hot actors, hot story – bring it back!
I love MOONLIGHT and I STILL haven’t come to terms with the fact that it’s been cancelled- what a disappointment. Let’s hope we can bring it back- save Moonlight!
SAVE MOONLIGHT, SAVE OUR LIFES!!!
By far, Moonlight is the most heart-breaking cancellation …so heartbreaking in fact that we have taken our grief on the road looking for a new home for Mick, Beth, Josef and the rest of that great cast. Yesterday (June 14th… World Blood Donors Day) there were rallies all over the country to save Moonlight. In Pittsburgh, fans brought families, other fans and friends out in the pouring rain to support this well-loved show. They have even given their blood to the American Red Cross and worked to raise awareness about bone marrow donations. Keep watching. We are on the move!
It looks as if I’m alone here with my saddness at the cancelling of Men In Trees. It is like losing a family. The show had great morals and many profound teachings in everyday life in Elmo. I just don’t know why the powers that be choose in cancelling a show that is so worth the watching instead of all the sex, violence and negativity that remains on the screen. I just don’t get it except that the majority of TV watchers are, unfortunately, brain demaged.
So many good shows on your list and the Broadcast Networks are wondering why their viewership goes down every year. The constant cost cutting by the networks and cancellation of shows that don’t have enough viewers, or the right demo group watching or are produced by an outside production company and are deemed too costly to keep on the schedule is going to eventually bite the networks in the butt. The ADHD scheduling of some of these shows and lack of promotion made it seem that the networks only want big hits and are no longer willing to let a show establish an audience. The older demographic is definitely being given the shaft as its voice is underrepresented on the internet and appears to be unwanted by the broadcast networks in their quest for ever younger viewers. Scripted TV appears to have been tossed out as payback for the writer’s strike.
I watched three of the shows on the list. The most heart breaking for me was MEN IN TREES. ABC ignored the Plant It Forward campaign of providing food trees for needy people in honor of Men In Trees. In fact I know of no fan campaign this year, including October Road’s DVD donation or Moonlight’s blood drive that have had any acknowledgement from the networks. Since Jericho was brought back but failed to gain viewers I think the networks have decided to just ignore the fans. They seem to have forgotten that there are other alternatives to Broadcast TV and once the loyal viewers are alienated they tend to go elsewhere and do not return. When the majority of what you watch is cancelled every year, eventually you wise up and stop watching.
It is a sad day when a high-quality show is cancelled and ABC has Cancelled a high-quality show, MEN IN TREES.
I never had to worry about the age of the person I recommended watch MEN IN TREES. MEN IN TREES was watched and loved by people of all ages.
Thank you for this opportunity to speak on their behalf.
Men In Trees’ cancellation was very heart breaking to me. The writing, the cast, and the scenery was superb. It isn’t too often I get hooked on a show, especially one where I feel as if the cast members are all personal friends. Trees was a comfortable show, much like a warm blanket and a cup of hot chocolate on a chilly winter’s night. It is a pity great shows are lost because of low ratings when the program is never advertised or is bounced around prime time as one would a rubber ball.
I have never watched Moonlight or October Road, but my heart goes out to the frustrated and loyal fans who lost their shows as well.
Shame on network tv!!
Hi , Thanks for the poll and article. October Road has it all great writing, acting, stories, characters and music. I hope the that ABC does the right thing and it least puts together and airs a series finale. IT was cruel to leave us all hanging.
It’s been an extemely frustrating year for TV viewers, as I also like Men in Trees and although I don’t watch Moonlight and Jericho -(and Friday Nigtht Lights -the ones who don’t/can’t have direct TV – although at least they will be able to watch at friends house or on DVD) I feel for the fans of all the shows. It is like networks tossed out all the babies with the bath water. Now we can look forward to shows that have completely gone downhill like Desperate Housewives or dumb shows like Wipeout. I try not to watch “just anything” on TV and only watch true quality shows..but it looks like the trend for the networks is to produce – unintelligent reality type junk.
but it looks like the trend for the networks is to produce – unintelligent reality type junk
You said it all Beth. Unfortunately, 2/3 of the world is nerd, ignorant and stupid.
Since they are the majority and swallow whatever networks give them, those are the ones networks really appreciate cos they mean $$$$$.
The hell with TV networks!
MOONLIGHT!!! Never has a show affected me the way Moonlight has. I can’t believe a show that won a People’s Choice Award for best new drama and consistently won its timeslot would be cancelled. Moonlight’s cancellation broke my heart.
I am heartbroken at the loss of Men in Trees. This was such a thoughtfully written yet funny show, with characters who were like friends. It had it all: characters who were hot, and those who were delightful and amusing. It never failed to bring a smile to my face, sometimes brought a twinge to my heart, and always left me thinking. Please bring it back!
I want men in trees back cant u see you made a mistake !! You never gave that show a chance you killed it from day one !! ABC you are missing out on a good thing way would you want to air so many shows that are centered around same subject. Men in trees is different and I love it!! If you have any heart at all you would put it back on for one more season left alone in same time slot for a full season… Thank you
I have been sitting back not saying nothin til now.. I wonna know why you cancled men in trees and why in the world did you not give it a chance? Its so different from what you are gonna put on now and them shows stink!! Put back men in trees !! So many of us love it.. Go and look at message boards and read what poeple are doing fro the show which is alot more then you people have for the show!! These people are what put ABC on the air and now ur taking it away from the!!! What a dumb move that was. Your gonna lose tons of viewers!! Men in Trees !! Put it bak on !!!! NOW!
MOONLIGHT was the worst cancellation by far!
Rachel, thanks for bring attention to the crime of so many cancelled shows this season. It’s a shame. October Road was my favorite. I was crushed when it was cancelled, especially with so many unanswered questions and such a sad season 2 finale. So, Most Heartwrenching? October Road!!!
For me the most heart-wrenching was by far October Road! I can’t even believe ABC would do that to us, and not even give us closure. I have almost completely given up on television, the only thing worth watching with October Road gone is Army Wives. I just have to hope that it won’t get cancelled too!
I am amazed that so many great shows get cancelled while more and more reality tv is forced upon us. It is about time that great writing and superb acting is given more air time. Moonlight’s cancellation was my most heart wrenching and I have joined the campaign to help save it, something I have never done before. It is time for reality tv to be cancelled to make more room for wonderful shows like Moonlight and October Road.
I can’t belive that is the way ABC ended Men in Trees! no resolution…no closure. I’ll miss you Men in Trees…sigh.
I love October Road! How can ABC cancel this show and not give us any closure! I mean, are they trying to lose viewers from their network, because that is what it seems like to me. Keep fighting Roadies, be that thorn in their sides until they give us back October Road!
I can’t tell you how disappointed i am that Men In Trees was cancelled. What a great show. It’s been such a joy to enjoy t.v. again, after all the reality shows being thrown at us. MIT had this quality about it and such a way in which it was written that made us feel like part of “their” family. I so looked forward to watching it and making me laugh. Please give it another chance when there is no writer’s strike…. it will do great given the chance.
Loyal Men In Trees fan
OH ABC SAY IT ISN’T SO – OCTOBER ROAD and MEN IN TREES – 2 of my favorite shows – I have turned others on to them. Give them a different time slot – I understand why Boston Legal has a 10:00 pm est time slot, but October Road and Men in Trees should have a 9:00 pm est time slot. Try running previews for them during one of your best watched shows like Desparate Housewives. Give them a chance – don’t cancel quality programs.
I LOVE October Road. My daughter (21) and I (42) watched this show together and it’s the first show in a LONG time that I just couldn’t miss. TV is so full of brainless, idiotic reality crap and then we got October Road…something that was thought provoking and heart warming. Something that both of us could relate to and enjoy. I promise you I won’t be watching Wipeout or Japanese whatever or even the Bachelorette. My brain just can’t sink to those levels.
I’m nearing 30, and “October Road” was the most heart-wrenching cancellation for this fan. This wasn’t just a dramatic television series about a fictional small town in Mass. To me it was home, and it simply captured different aspects of my own life both in the past and in the present and in such an addicting way. ABC, you have to see the light and allow the cast and crew to continue this for a third season, beyond the 15 minute series finale the creators and the cast are giving us. Will we ever see a more accurate portrayal of a “small New England town” on network (or even) cable television? I’ve lived here for 22 years, and the answer to that very question is “you won’t.” The last series to successfully focus on a group of people in a small New England town is the acclaimed sitcom (and one of my childhood favorites), “Newhart”, which ironically was also about a writer. This and “Newhart” is among some of television’s finest.
I really appreciate the support Rachel. Thanks.
Well it looks like the JERICHO fans didn’t get here yet, so I will say that it was VERY, VERY, difficult being canceled TWICE and VERY, VERY, difficult realizing that viewers were not being counted by NIELSEN correctly.
Nor were episodes watched online being counted or episodes that were being watched at a later date. NIELSEN has some MAJOR issues but the networks don’t want to mess with it because it would cost too much money to redo the system.
I have decided to never again watch CBS and never again love another tv show.
JERICHO ROCKED and CBS treated it badly. I miss it so much and I am not giving up trying to get another network to pick it up. The cast of JERICHO became like family to me and my heart is broken.
Most heartwrenching cancellation by far is October Road. I am just dumbfounded how all this reality programming is just flooding the airways. The cancel quality programming because it had low ratings. It had low ratings because it had an utter lack of promotion and stinky leads-ins. I also think that 10pm est time slot was too late. ABC-RENEW OCTOBER ROAD! BE THE PIONEER AND SHOW THE OTHER NETWORKS THAT VIEWERS DESERVE QUALITY PROGRAMMING!
The most Heart-Wrenching cancellation is and will always be Moonlight!!!! this awesomw show deserves a second season, please!!!
I still cannot come to grips with MOONLIGHT getting cancelled. What on earth is wrong with CBS? They finally got a show that was actually worth watching on Friday night and they pull the plug on it. I have had it with CBS anyway…they stink…..I was a fan of GW but this network has ticked me off so bad that I am giving up on it as well. You took a phenomenal cast, a great storyline and you trashed it. You get what you deserve CBS….LOW ratings!
I can not live without Moonlight, please brinng back Moonlight the best show on TV forever!!!!!!!!!!
1000 times October Road was a heartwrenching cancellation. All the stories were left hanging, many of them with sad endings. The announcement of cancellation was so crushing to it’s fans. October road!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Moonlight, Moonlight always be and always will be in my heart, I love this amazing show and I will follow always!!!!!!!!
Definitely October Road!!! So many questions left unanswered, I am really hoping it comes back, we need closure!!
Ilove MEN IN TREES. This amazing show is going to be in my heart FOREVER! Please ABC bring back our MEN IN TREES SOON!!!!!
I love Moonlight and I want bring back, Moonlight only has one season and deserves a second season to continue all amazing stories, like the Mick and Beth, or the Talbot’s list, or also the Coraline and Lance, please give to Moonlight a second season, please, I can not live without Moonlight!!!
me you dog all bag red green stay you speed see we vacant
JERICHO-Enough said.
I miss MEN IN TREES so much. Please MEN IN TREES deserves a third season!!!!!!!!
October Road! October Road! October Road!
Most Heartwrenching for sure!
The cancellation of Moonlight is the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen a network do – it won the PCA for Best New Drama of 2008 with over 10 million votes. We only had 16 episodes, fell in love with it (best TV show I have EVER seen!), just to have CBS cancel it 2 days before we could even enjoy Sonata on 5/16. Oh, we saw and enjoyed Sonata, but they had to try to ruin it by announcing the cancellation 1st. After everything this marvelous show went through, including the strike, it still has millions of loyal fans, and is still gaining fans all over the world every day. I am in the fight to get it picked up by another network, and I am confident that it will happen. The network that is wise enough to pick up Moonlight will treat the show, the cast & crew and the viewers with respect.
Moonlight being cancelled by CBS was the most gut wrenching thing a network did this season. How can you cancel a show that has millions of fans worldwide and wins a People’s Choice Award. Does that not mean something to TPTB at CBS that fans loved this show enough to vote. This show has it all, chemistry, romance, drama, a little comedy thrown in and great music. CBS really screwed up. Some smart network will pick this show up and we will more seasons of Moonlight.
Sadly…..The MiT website is gone…I go away on vacation for 8-days knowing that perhaps the website would prevail. Good enough, my gut-instincts was right on target. Yes, the cancellation of MiT is heart-wrenching as are the other shows mentioned here…Sadly, in how networks fail to see the steady demographics who faithfully watch certain shows that cater to their entertainment needs. Mit had it’s own brand of special ingredients that I rarely see on T.V. anymore. Seriously, a fresh breath of air, out in Alaska setting, fresh set of minds, quirky characters, heart-warming and witty storylines that actually parallel with today’s day-to-day life. The issues addressed and faced. The scenery never failed to amaze me and left me breathless each week.
ABC never gave MiT a chance to breathe or thrive. It was never given a regular time slot, thus, the reason why it was yanked at a moment’s whim….only to be brought back on another day/night. Faithful fans in awe of the show had a trying time to keep up with the repeated yankings….If not for those ‘yankings’….I surmise the ratings would have skyrocketed enough to have ABC drop their jaws to see how much their pockets would have reaped in gold with MiT franchise…
IT IS ABC’s loss….It’s our bittersweet gain for we were the faithful few who managed to stay afloat to watch the remaining shows aired…Sadly, but true, the flocks of lost fans came streaming through the website in utter shock…”What? MiT is cancelled? I thought it was gone a long time ago and lost sight of it…Why didn’t anyone tell me it was on so I could watch it?….” These are one of the many who appeared on the website, even down to the days after the show’s cancellation…
I’m saddened…I hope some other network affiliate picks up MiT and/or another network devises a show that has MiT’s special ingredients….It was a show that ROCKED!!
Kudos to MiT…We were, definitely, robbed of a sweet ending because the series finale was much more of “whatever is on the plate, dish it out to them, treehuggers….” Satisfy their fill and end the show………
October Road is definately the most heart wrenching cancellation. I still can’t get my head around this decision! The fight to save October Road is far from finished, so please Roadies…stay strong, make noise, support the cause! Long live October Road!
October Road without a doubt is the most heart wrenching cancellation! This show is more than just a TV show to all of us, it’s a part of who we are! October Road deserves to be on TV for many many seasons. We all, the show, the writers, the producers, the crew, the cast and all of us, deserve another chance. Please, BRING BACK OCTOBER ROAD!
CBS cancelling MOONLIGHT was the most gut wrenching and obviously ridiculous thing a network could have done. How they can cancel a show that has millions of fans worldwide, won the prestigious PCA, not an easy thing to win in this type of category and had so much potential of being one of the best vampire story on network TV. CBS, please reconsider and bring back MOONLIGHT for a 2nd season, we promise we won’t disappoint.
http://thetvaddict.com/2008/07/08/the-tv-addict-surrenders-to-moonlight-fans/
MOONLIGHT ROCKS!!
I still feel such great sadness and disbelief that a quality show like OCTOBER ROAD was canceled. And the way that it was done was just downright cruel to the fans. At least Men In Trees (which I also liked) was allowed to shoot an alternate ending in case of cancellation. Why was OR not given that same consideration? I am very proud to have donated S1 dvd’s of OR to our soldiers but geez, now I have probably hooked them on a wonderful show that has no closure (yet) and no episodes in the future. Please, ABC, rethink your decision and bring back our show or else help it along to another network.
Even as far away as Singapore, I want to see more of October Road. I’ve been promoting the show to all my friends. ABC, please bring back October Road!!
GO GREEN BRING BACK TREES!
Without a doubt, OCTOBER ROAD! It’s absolutely the best show, and deserves to be on TV for a long time. We have to continue to do all that we can! SAVE OCTOBER ROAD!
LONG LIVE OCTOBER ROAD!
October Road is an excellent show with lots ways to go with the story. At least a few more seasons are needed. What goes on with these ABC guys ? I think we need to get a sit-down on the books.
I am a “Roadie” through and through. My heart stopped when another roadie passed on the horrific news of the show’s cancellation. Please, please reconsider ABC. You have made a grave error.
October Road, without question! ABC would be making a huge, and I mean HUGE mistake if they don’t bring this show back. What makes me even more sad is that I enjoy other ABC shows such as Eli Stone and I will be forced to give that up as well if October Road does not retuen because I will boycott ABC altogether and urge my friends, who are also big O.R. fans to do the same.
I love this show! I was SOOOO sad to hear that ABC has made the mistake of not bringing this wonderful show back to it’s lineup. Considering some of the other junk on television, this show has been a refreshing surprise. I hope that ABC realizes it’s mistake! Go Eddie and Janet!!
MEN IN TREES the best show on Tv ever and ever and forever….
BRING MY MOONLIGHT BACK….IT IS THE BEST SHOW IN TOWN AND ALL OVER THE WORLD. VSRRR!!
October Road was the best show ever to be cancelled! Just when ABC finally had my attention, they blew it by cancelling this wonderful show. I, for one, am sick of seeing nanny shows, dog trainers, and singing competitions. Give me a quality story of hope and love any time!
Is this poll ever going to end or is it going to drag on in perpetuity essentially rendering it meaningless???
Moonlight was my favorite show..I am actually surpised at a lot of cancellations..They are taking all of these quality shows with great acting and what bringing on more reality shows !! I want to get involved with the story line and characters of a show not who got voted off..I hope they bring my favorite show back-I am already feeling the void..I wish you all luck..
October Road, without a doubt, was the most heart wrenching cancellation. Roadies are a tough bunch and we’re still in the fight to save this show. ABC really needs to reconsider their decision. People are beyond passionate about this gem. I think at this point the ratings would pleasantly surprise them it they were to air it again.
I would have to say that MOONLIGHT upset me the most but I also loved OCTOBER ROAD.These networks are crazy and do not notice great talent and the huge fan base!!!!!!
Please bring October Road back to T.V. The network really didn’t give it a shot. Reality t.v. shows need to come to an end.
JERICHO!!! My whole family watched (and there are 6 of us but we can only vote once)! It was a show we could all watch. It prompted conversation, what ifs and actual brain use. We will not watch reality TV because there is nothing real about it. Bring back quality drama please! After watching the entire Season 2 on DVD in a weekend my kids wanted to put on the next disc – they couldn’t understand why no-one had made a season 3. Please give us Season 3 and more.
I just recently started looking for when October Road would start back and am DEEPLY SADDENED about the cancellation! I loved that show and my boyfriend was even a fan. This is upsetting to me and I hope through a little encouragement the show will be brought back to us. The storyline was amazing! I believe that there was not enough publicity brought to the show. Some of my friends at work hadn’t even heard of it but they watch ABC shows regularly. Give us our show back!
OCTOBER ROAD has to come back on!!
When I tried to vote today, there would be a message that I’ve already voted. The last time I tried, I also noticed that for Moonlight, the number of votes had DROPPED by 2.
What kind of new math is being used to count the votes??
I’m still so torn up about October Road, I can’t even tell you! It pains me, and no amount of time is healing this wound. And so, the fight goes on…Long live October Road.
October Road was my favorite show. The story is still going on in my head..wondering how it will all end. ABC left it sooo unfinished.
That show was great..it reminds me of home, first love, my youth ..it is just a wonderful and satisfying show. Thanks ABC for ruining it for me.
I believe by far that Moonlight is the most distrubing cancellation! It had erverything, action, romance, humor and just a wonderful cast!We need closure CBS!Hot Alex O’loughlin will be missed,as the whole cast!Nina Tassler and Les Moonves you better listen and vamps are making a comeback and you two drop it FOOLS!
Jericho, beats all on this list by miles.
Rachel, for me, October Road was the most painful cancelation of all time! It was a complete unfair act by ABC. They gave us 19 episodes, long enough to fall inlove with both the show AND it’s writers, then yanked the rug out from under us. They blamed the fans for not supporting the show, but they are the ones who failed to even advertise it properly. I believe now, after season 2 and with the publicity of O.r.’s cancelation, the numbers have grown dramatically. This show brought to it’s viewers dramatic story lines, incredible music and the gorgeous scenery. We were all faithful to the show once a week, and sat in anticipation for the following week’s episode. I found myself humming to the music during that week, and longing for Mondays. I am heart broke and doubt I will ever allow myself to get drawn in to another show again! I do not trust ABC and if this horrible mistake done solely by ABC isn’t corrected, I won’t be returning to that network. Thank you for everything that you continue to do for loyal fans such as myself!!
Moonlight is by far the most heartbreaking cancellation for me. While some of the other shows were good, Moonlight far surpassed any on the list, IMO. Vampires never held my interest before, but the quality of the storylines, acting, lighting, and relationships on Moonlight caught my attention and held tight! So many of my coworkers and my family are fans, and we’re fighting to bring back our favorite show! Thanks to Moonlightline.com and Youchoose.net for supporting our campaign to save Moonlight!!
I have never written a fan letter in my life. But, I feel October Road was never given a fair chance. Abc moved it around so frequently, it was difficult to locate. Amazingly, it developed a loyal following. Abc should really consider adding the show as a mid season replacement. It was a great show & could easily find a niche with the viewers
October Road by far is heart wrenching for me to have lost….i lived vicariously through this show i began watching this show from day one and fell in love imediately with everyone on it….i seriously cried when i found out it wasnt coming back…so i have decided to boycot abc all together…they have done this to us too many times…putting on these crappy reality shows i live in reality i like a time when i dont have to be in it…this show is actually the only one my husband would sit and watch with me…he says i want to be a roadie…i said me to but they just stopped the road ….and now were stuck with nowhere to go….please bring back our show dont do this to the people who finally find peace anger tears and joy from one of your shows….long live OCTOBER ROAD
Bring October Road back!
JERICHO HANDS DOWN was the most heartbreaking cancellation of the season. Twice canceled because of the Nielsen Ratings and the fans were here but because we didn’t have Nielsen boxes to be counted we lost the greatest show ever. But we are not done yet. We will continue our campaign until we find a new home for Jericho. We stand united for the cause.
Re: Jericho – “the fans were here but because we didn’t have Nielsen boxes to be counted we lost the greatest show ever.”
Gee, maybe if you had found a way to cheat Nielsen the way you cheat here, Jericho might still be on, huh?
Nagane would love to know how us JERICHO fans are “cheating”. I’m on this site every day and Jericho’s number slowly rise, today how ever October Road’s number went up by 300 in 6 hours. Some would say “Pot calling the kettle black”.
How about some quotes from Jericho’s forum:
flowerlady11: I just did a marathon voted on my account, my husbands account, my sons account and my daughters account. Now I am going to start over with my account.
flowerlady11: hired another 20 Jericho Sheriff Office Deputies so now I have 40 of them.
tothal: Holy Cow – how do you keep track – I have four and by the time I get done voting on them it’s time to start over again!!!
(Yup, pure as driven snow. May even make me watch October Road to see what all the fuss is about!)
Who is Nagane? You have never posted a comment on here until now. I find it very strange that you went straight to my comment to start trouble. You must follow the Jericho boards looking for a way to start trouble. You doctored the score of October Road just like you did Firefly and Jericho against our wishes. This is a clean poll. We would like to keep it that way. We don’t play your way. Your unwanted comments are not warranted. If flowerlady11 wants to vote for her family on her computer that’s legal. What you are doing is not.
Nope, never heard of this site until I read about it on the Jericho board. Never even watched October Road after the first episode since the girl from That 70’s Show didn’t seem right on it.
But it was a hoot to read the complaints about cheating here from a board that openly shares cheating methods. Having 40+ accounts on sites to get around the rules isn’t cheating? Voting multiple times in a few minutes on another that limits you to one vote per six hours isn’t cheating?
So if an October Road fan is cheating here, props to them. It’s obviously in reaction to the hypocrisy of Jericho fans, and it’s only fair Jericho fans see things from the other side!
Nagene, The only hypocrite here would be yourself, Jericho fans do not cheat to get the numbers up unless someone like yourself steps in to doctor numbers and it only happens when you are around. No one has 40 accounts to get numbers up at Jericho. Our numbers were moving slowly and honestly until you showed up. This is a poll, not a race, Please stay out of it unless you want to give your honest 1 vote per hour.
Nagane says:
How about some quotes from Jericho’s forum:
So Nagane – you think you are so smart – those quotes from me that you took from the Jericho board are not even about this poll – they were from months ago about another poll – this poll didn’t even exist when I made those comments!!!
Linda – It ain’t my “being around” as I don’t vote here at all. “Jericho fans do not cheat to get the numbers up unless…” Cheating because you think others cheat is still (now what do they call it…) cheating. And with flowerlady11 and others cheating on other sites and admitting it, why should anyone believe they’re not cheating here?
Nagane, You are right Cheating is Cheating.
Why do you feel it is ok to Doctor fans numbers to get even with the other party fans. That is CHEATING and it is coming from you not the fans that are voting on either of these polls. If October Road fans thinks it’s alright for you to do this for them more power to you and they can’t hold their own. At least we Jericho Rangers know that we honestly earned each point we got and played fare.
Why do you feel it is ok to Doctor fans numbers to get even with the other party fans. I don’t. See your comment #206 – I was quoting you! I don’t vote here, and don’t know how anyone might cheat. But you stated that Jericho fans would cheat if they thought others were cheating, which they claim on their board that October Road fans are doing, so that leads to one conclusion…
Nagane Please quote me correctly See my comment #206!! “I said Jericho fans do not cheat to get the numbers up unless someone like yourself steps in to doctor numbers and it only happens when you are around” You cleverly left off the rest of the sentence. The only times we have problems are when you pop up from nowhere, so don’t turn this around on me. Jericho fans do not need to cheat and we do not need the likes of you reeking havoc on the boards we are on. You weren’t quoting me, you were trying to make a quote of your own. If your going to re-write it do it correctly.
Jericho is by far the best show to come along in many years. We are still hoping some really savvy network will decide to produce Jericho.
It is well written, acted, and directed. It is a senario that could be reality, in a heartbeat. I miss it so very much!!! A loyal Jericho Ranger..
Leave it to people like Nagane, to travel about spreading chaos, picking quotes from boards he/she is not a part of, taking the joy out of something that should be fun and enjoyment in which to participate. Sounds to me like Nagane needs a life. Promote whomever you feel is the finer show. Leave rumor, slurs, and chaos out of the equasion. I happen to know flowerlady11 is a fine individual, loyal Jericho promoter, and you quoted her regarding a poll from long ago, which had no limit or restrictions per se. Toss your sour grapes about if you just have to. It just makes you look small and petty. Enough said.
JH
PLEASE bring our show back!! My whole family loved it!! That’s 5 FANS!! And we want to see more of the story! It was good, clean, realistic and touching! Please!
I have been waiting and waiting for October Road to come back and just now found out that it had been cancelled. I am so disappointed!!! This was my Favorite show and I couldnt wait for its return!! ABC has all these stupid gameshows that are absolutely horrible and they take the good shows off the air! What is wrong with them???
Jericho, by far, is my first heart-wrenching choice. But it seems most of the shows that I watch are doomed to cancellation. I also watched Moonlight, October Road and Journeyman. Moving shows around to different days and different times made me miss some of the episodes but since I am not a Nielsen family I did not count anyhow.
ONE YEAR LATER AND our fight is stronger than ever we will fight fight fight,,, we are here til our show gets an endding it deserves
Moonlight is my favorite show! It’s awesome!!
I’m wondering about the vote tallying, however. When I saw the votes last night, there were 12332 for Moonlight; this morning there are 12326 — 6 less. Interesting. Must be one of those “accounting errors”.
I’m still shattered over the cancellation of October Road. The only way I’ll ever get over it is for ABC to bring it back or for another network to pick it up. We finally had a quality TV show that people really enjoyed then it was yanked out from under us…”heart wrenching” doesn’t even begin to describe it!
I have never even heard of Jericho. October Road is highly missed….we are waiting…listen to us the people who really watch!!!
Well MollyMN feel free to go to the CBS.COM web site and watch Jericho and you will see for yourself the Jericho is the BEST show on this list by far. As for never hearing of Jericho I can beleive that since CBS barely advertized this wonderful show.
OCTOBER ROADS Cancelation still hurts my heart…I miss it so much. Please make it come back I need it
I miss October road more and more…
Is it even possible to cheat on this poll? I didnt think we had to have an account to vote…Anyway its really sad if people are cheating for jericho, Wouldnt you want to know that your show won thr right way, If you have to cheat to win then that means that nobody really likes your show, if your voting for 40 different people and really only being one person. I know us October road fans would never cheat We are faithful and good hearted just like our amazing show…I know October road is the true heart breaker I’ve seen at least one episode of every show on this list but not one compares to the love of October road, I hope us fans will see justice for our show in the future…
Absolutely, October Road! October Road has been off the air for months, and I am still devasted! It’s the best show, hands down. I hope the right decision is made and October Road is either renewed or picked up by another channel/network. LONG LIVE OCTOBER ROAD!!!
I see that they have discontinued the Message Boards for October Road on ABC. Is there anywhere else that these can be accessed?
barbyard, Hey you need to type october road into the search box, then it will take you to it
MOONLIGHT is my favorite show. Now that SciFi is picking up Moonlight’s first season, SciFi is my favorite channel!! SciFi ROCKS!!
CBS — perhaps you need to take a closer look at the person who decided to drop Moonlight. Clearly that person does not have CBS’ best interests at heart!
OCTOBER ROADS MESSAGE BOARDS ARE BACK FOR ALL THE FANS!!!
http://abc.go.com/primetime/octoberroad/index?pn=mb&cat=41338
Moonlight and only Moonlight!!!!
ONLY OCTOBER ROAD
Moonlight! Without a doubt! Moonlight is an exceptional drama, with great casting, fabulous cinematography, and storylines that keep your interest from beginning to end. There are several stories that beg to be continued. Moonlight deserves its movie and a second season!
ONLY OCTOBER ROAD SHOULD BE SAVED!!! IT’S THE ONLY GOOD HEARTED SHOW ON TV, FULL OF HOPE AND LOVE…TV HAS ENOUGH VIOLENT SHOWS THATS ARE”NT AS ORIGINAL AS OCTOBER ROAD, THERE IS NOTHING ON TV LIKE OCTOBER ROAD, PLEASE GIVE US A SEASON 3…AND WHY WOULD ANYONE WATCH MOONLIGHT WHEN WE NOW HAVE TRUE BLOOD, THE BEST VAMPIRE SHOW EVER…MORE ORIGNAL THAN ANY OTHER…SAVE OCTOBER ROAD
WITH ALL MY HEART, ITS OCTOBER ROAD
As much as I liked October Road,Moonlight was the worst cancellation for me ever!Love that show!!!!
Moonlight is the one I miss the most, but at this point in time at least the SciFi channel will be bringing back Season 1 starting on Friday, January 23, 2009, at it’s normal time (8:00 PM Mountain time) each Friday….Who knows maybe we can get that movie that all Moonlight fans want.. Also, on January 20, 2009, the long awaited DVD for Moonlight Season 1 will be available….I have been voting on this poll since 6-4-2008, and I wonder if Rachel Thomas has forgotten that she has this poll still going on… We are in the middle of the new TV season and a new year with cancellations of current TV shows happening…How long will this poll go on????
October Road ONLY
October Road for sure
(
I’m so glad to have MOONLIGHT back on Friday nights!! SCIFI ROCKS!!!!!!!!
October Road Now and Forever…I miss you so much
MOONLIGHT is the best show that has been broadcast in years!!! MOONLIGHT deserves another season for its quality drama, casting, and writing. It just happens to be about vampires, but is done tastefully and exquisitely!!! Catch it on SciFi on Friday nights. You won’t be sorry!!!
October road is the only deserving show of a 3rd season, October Road Represents what we all live for , LOVE
(242) Octoberforever says:
October road is the only deserving show of a 3rd season, October Road Represents what we all live for , LOVE
Hold on, I understand your disappointment over your show being canceled, but that’s a pretty broad statement!! There were other shows deserving of another season and other peoples opinions do matter.
Ok anne thats your opinion, say what you want…it’s your opinion, I have my own which I am entitled to express my opinion is that October road is the best on this list. If you dont agree then fine I wasnt speaking for everyone else just myself and other OR fans so dont tell me I cant say what I want Because I will over and over again, GET OVER IT OR IS THE BEST!!!!
October Road = Garbage
October Road is The best show ABC ever had Wohoooo…..Season 2 on DVD may 5th!!!!!!!
By far the most heart-wrenching cancellation was October Road. We were all left hanging with so many unanswered questions. I agree with everyone else, they moved this show around so much I just started watching it on abc.com. I could always find it there! How do they come up with their numbers anyway. ALL the characters of Knights Ridge were awesome and it was like they really touched you in some way. These ABC execs only think with their checkbooks not their hearts!! Long Live October Road!!!
Jericho is the show I miss most. It is the only show I have ever fought to save even though I have had lots of shows that I liked canceled. I hope to see it back on the air.
Are all you you crazy?!Moonlight should win hands down for most missed and best show!I may Love October Road but come on now what could be better that the action, romance, and humor of Moonlight!I have never seen Jericho to make a statement, but at least it got two seasons!
All I know is that October Road was the only show that could make me happy…The only show that could make me feel…The only show to show me LOVE…We October Road fans are sooo strong and Loyal, Even now were still fighting to save the show!!! Thats powerful and we have another campaign coming up this month go to the ABC.com october road message boards and join this amazing group og Roadies!!!
Anyone not voting for Moonlight is crazy!!!
Call me crazy but October Road gets my vote!
October Road has been off the air since last March, and a year later it is still the most heart wrenching cancellation. That goes to show how much this show means to people and how incredible it is. With having said that, I along with many others, are not giving up. When a show this wonderful comes along you can’t let it go. So fans of October Road, keep on fighting! We gotta get our show back! LONG LIVE OCTOBER ROAD!! TEAM OCTOBER ROAD!
I will never give up hope for October Road as well…The Season 2 DVD is being released on may 5th 2009… Hopefully we can impress Abc with the outstanding sales on the DVD!!!!
October Road needs to come back!! it def. started to become my favorite show, every time an episode was over i couldn’t wait for it to start up again! besides they left us with so many unanswered questions. ABC was stupid for take it off PLEASE bring this show back!
I’m so happy that SciFi has been showing MOONLIGHT!! The MOONLIGHT Marathons of the past 2 Thursday nights were wonderful! I’m looking forward to watching MOONLIGHT again tonight! What a wonderful show!!!!!!!!!!
YAYA For OCTOBER ROAD SEASON 2 ON DVD MAY 5TH…INCLUDES THE EPILOGUE EVERYONE HAS BEEN DYING TO SEE…BUY YOUR COPY ASAP
It has been one year after Jericho was canceled for the second time and I miss this show just as much as I did last year. I really want a season 3 & more and I won’t give up on it. They are coming out with a movie and that’s great but I really miss tuning in each week. This is one of the best shows o TV ever and I do hope and pray another station picks it up and runs with it because there is still a great following for it.
October Road is the greatest!!!
October Road #300 Yaaaa…Love It
All of you are crazy!I loved October road and bought the DVD but by far Moonlight was and is the best! With all the Vampire hype these days Moonlight should of gotten a second chance or least a Movie! And what a friggin hunk Alex Oloughlin is!!!I never saw Jerhico so I have no opinion on it.
Ya thats just the thing, there are alot of vampire stuff outthere and We have True Blood, Sorry but theres NO need for Moonlight, TrueBlood totally outshines any vampire movie or show… TrueBlood outshines any show on tv for that matter
I agree about True Blood I LOVE it!But Moonlight was something that I can ever get over. The Chemistry between the two characters actually makes me cry it is so beautiful. Not the same with Bill and Sookie, but hope there will be.
MOONLIGHT is by far the best “vampire show” I’ve seen to date! Everything about Moonlight was exceptionally good, and the storylines were getting even better with each episode. There should be a Moonlight mini-series and movie to wrap up the unanswered teasers.
MOONLIGHT,MOONLIGHT,MOONLIGHT,MOONLIGHT ETC……………..
MOONLIGHT especially since everyone is really into vamps them now!!!
October Road, is the only deserving show on the list, we have the greatest most loving fanbase…We all treat each other with respect and work together, just a littlw something we learned from the Road…October Road Will never be forgotten..I miss it sooo much.
Surely you jest! October Road may be YOUR favorite, but it is in no way the only deserving show on the list!! MOONLIGHT has 8 million loyal fans who followed this excellent show, donated blood and $$ in support, and fought for its survival. CBS’ mistake shortened the life of what could have been a long running show. Please give MOONLIGHT the respect it deserves.
October Road Alll The way!!!
I agree with Kasey, MOONLIGHT is an exceptional show and worthy of respect as such. Octoberwhatever should do herself a huge favor by watching the MOONLIGHT DVD and experiencing the magic that is MOONLIGHT!!
It’s October Road No doubt, End Of Story, Period. It’s October Road.
Kasey is correct!MOONLIGHT is the best,I did watch October Road but these shows differ so much how there be a comparison really? But I choose Moonlight then October Road second for a favorite.
Nancy you are right the magic of Moonlight will take your breath away especially if you are a romantic type.Period!Octoberforever I have seen you on PVA polls and that is all you poll about.
well Im so sorry trish that October Road is all I poll, About I love the show dearly, It was my favorite show and deserves to be seen. The My new favorite show which is The complete opposite is True Blood, at least you got another show in your genre to watch, true bloods not goin anywhere so stick with that, October Road was a one of a kind type of show, there is nothing like it, everything is cops and doctors and violence. October Road was about Love and I miss it so much.
I am not picking on you Octoberforever,I too Loved October Road and bought the DVD and was heartbroken when it got axed just like my beloved Moonlight,it seems shows I like get the axe.I adore True Blood and am happy that I have that.It would have been nice to give conclusion to both Moonlight and October Road.Tv execs.do not care what people love no matter how much you complain.
Ok Thanks Trish, I never seen Moonlight, but I can clearly see it’s fans are just as lovable as us October Road fans. It’s so annoying to see show do well, when they are not half as good as our shows…If only people would give different things a try they would see that theres more to tv than grey’s and Csi, I only watch shows that have a unique twist to them, I loved pushing dasies but again it was cancelled, I wish people werent sooo plain and liked shows like these…Tooo bad maybe they’ll wake up one day..
Octoberforever you can find me on PCA with the name Zitano.Sound or look familiar?Buzz away about October Road but it is unfortunate that there are those on that site that picked on October Road and Moonlight. But the site is quite fun and interesting.Look me up.
I will never stop missing OCTOBER ROAD,it was the best show ever and I still hope ABC will wake up and bring OR back.
OCTOBER ROAD is still the best show ever for me and I miss it very much.
BRING BACK….KINDRED/THE EMBRACED,WITH ORIGINAL CAST.GREAT SHOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!@
Moonlight always
