The 60th Annual Emmy Award Nominees

Thursday July 17, 2008
It's Emmy time! Each year when the Emmy nominees are announced and the winners chosen, many television fans are left outraged when their favorite shows are left out of the race.

This year's nominees are a nice mix of perennial contenders and new faces. Without The Sopranos and 24 in the running, many new candidates caught the eye of those Emmy voters.

Did your favorite shows and actors make the final cut? Find out who received a nomination and who got snubbed. The 60th Annual Emmy Awards airs live from the NOKIA Theatre in Los Angeles September 21 on ABC. Photo: © Fox Broadcasting Co.

October Road should totally be nominated for an Emmy for Best Drama! It’s absolutely incredible and deserves to be winning awards. The writing is brilliant and the acting is amazing!! A show this superb deserves all the success in the world! LONG LIVE OCTOBER ROAD!

I am wondering why Rebecca Field of October Road did not receive an Emmy nod - her acting in the season two finale was incredible! Who could possibly view her in that breakup scene without feeling her emotions coming right through the screen at you. Rebecca and Geoff Stults both nailed this scene perfectly and they deserve some recognition. I guess what they say is true after all, that Hollywood isn’t known for it’s fairness.

I really believe Geoff Stults and Rebecca Field should of been nominated for an Emmy this year. Their work in the S2 Finale of October Road alone was out standing, let alone the whole season! Just another example of shows and actors with meaningful messages being over looked by the “HOLLYWOOD EGO MACHINE”. I mean look at what has happened to poor Katheran Heigel. She mentions in passing that she doesn’t want to be considered for an emmy this year because she didn’t think the writing was that strong for her character Izzy on Grey’s, and rumors are now flying that she should be kicked off the show by way of killing her character off. I think this is ridiculaus! When will the people of this country stand up and demand that we have respect from Hollywood! When will we all realize that you have to throw your dollars and time behind quality programming and movie’s that comes out of Hollywood? The more you feed that beast of an ego that the Hollywood machine has the more it will spit out Trash Reality shows, A-Moral Movies, and more horrible images our children and society as a whole should not see. It is my opinion that as a whole we the american people have to be more careful what where we put our money. Because that is all hollywood responds to, box office totals, advertising dollars, and ratings! ABC should bring October Road back and restore our faith in Network TV. Geoff & Rebecca should get a emmy award for their work on October Road this year, IMO! LONG LIVE OCTOBER ROAD!

Where are the nominations for October Road? I think that the show should be up for best drama,it is a truely inspiring show.
And how could Rebecca and Geoff not be up for nominations for their outstanding performance in the season two finale.
Again I wonder who comes up with these nominations and are they really watching the shows that they nominate? I think not.

I just wanted to add, that I completely agree with Maria, Meggan and Cindy. All of the actors and actresses are superb, but Rebecca and Geoff were OUTSTANDING in the season 2 finale. The scene when they were in the hospital was just WOW. The acting was amazing. Rebecca and Geoff have the best chemistry together, and I believe they should both be nominated(and win) for their acting in the season 2 finale alone. Just in that one scene, their acting was better than most of the “acting” I see on TV today. Geoff & Rebecca are always phenomenal, but I think the season 2 finale, showed just how amazing they truly are. October Road should be nominated for Best Drama Series and Rebecca & Geoff(if the rest of the cast isn’t going to be, they at least should) for Best Actress in A Drama Series and Best Actor In A Drama Series. I just can’t believe it!
LONG LIVE OCTOBER ROAD!
