Is Melrose Place Returning to Primetime?

I can still remember that catchy opening theme song and it has been playing in my head ever since I got word that the CW is planning to launch a Melrose Place remake.

Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello was the first to break the news about a Melrose Place remake after his sources at the CW confirmed the story. Will any original cast members be on board for the series? Will the series take place in the same apartment complex that Kimberly bombed a few years into the show? The concept is in its very early stages, so there aren't any specific details about the new series. Ausiello did indicate that the show would likely debut next fall. Perhaps it'll share the night with 90210.

Melrose Place helped launch the careers of current television stars Marcia Cross and Doug Savant, both starring in ABC's Desperate Housewives. Some of the other cast members such as Laura Leighton (who is married to Savant), Grant Show and Thomas Calabro have had moderate success since the series ended in 1999, and a few appear to have just completely disappeared off the face of the earth.
