Sci Fi Channel Adds More Fan Favorites

Wednesday November 5, 2008
Losing your favorite television series is always a painful experience and although nothing could possibly make up for your loss, the Sci Fi Channel feels your pain. In the last few years, the Sci Fi Channel has snagged syndication rights to fan favorite series such as Roswell, Tru Calling and Jericho. A couple more series have been added and I think one in particular will make some bloodthirsty fans very, very happy....

One of last season's most heart-wrenching cancellations (in addition to October Road and Men in Trees) was the CBS vampire drama series Moonlight. The fans fought until the bitter end, but CBS just wouldn't budge. Beginning January 23, the Sci Fi Channel will begin airing the series in its entirety every Friday night at 9pm ET (check local listings).

The Sci Fi Channel has also added the former ABC alien series Invasion to their lineup on Friday nights (8pm ET) beginning January 23. Fans of the series may remember the maddening cliffhanger that ultimately ended the series, but I was fortunate enough to get some solid answers when I interviewed Tyler Labine (who now stars on Reaper) a few months ago. What were those hybrids? Were they aliens? The answer is quite intriguing!

If you didn't catch either series when they originally aired, I strongly suggest giving them a shot -- you won't be disappointed.

Moonlight repeats on the Sci Fi channel — that is the best news I have heard in a long time THANK YOU, THANK YOU SCI FI. We all loved Moonlight so much and miss it terribly. At this point in time is it still possible to go for a second season with same cast? I am just so excited to see Alex and the gang again on weekly TV.

PS I wish Scifi would have come through for new Moonlight eps, not just reruns. I wonder why they didn’t.

I’m BEYOND delighted that Sci-Fi picked up Moonlight’s Season One! Unlike TV-series before it, this one caught me so tightly, that I can watch episodes over and over without ever growing tired of them! I love the Story-line, and the Detail the cast put into their characters, along with the Multi-layered effect of the story! It makes the rest of TV seem shallow to me. Everything else I can skip or forgo entirely – but I’ll be at every airing of every episode of Moonlight – without fail! For the Digital Switch – I’ve notified DirecTV of my choice of them, because they’ve tried to help us regain Moonlight. I also continue to do all I can in mail and on-line to support Moonlight’s return.

It seems the only reason some people will watch the SciFi channel is because of the show Moonlight. As for me, I will stop watching SciFi as of Jan. 10th 2009.

thank you sci-fi! i too wish you could have been able to get a 2 season of moonlight and many more (best show there was on tv). it’s still not too late to look at the series and make the cast and crew an offer they can’t refuse and show cbs what network has real showcase talent. anyway, thank you again for the reruns of moonlight. a devoted fan of both “moonlight” and the sci-fi channel forever and always. donna gilliam/donng/dokagi

So glad you are airing the First Season of Moonlight. I so enjoyed the program and was disappointed when it was cancelled. Thank you Sci-Fi Channel for picking it up. I enjoy the reruns as much as the original show.
