Jack Bauer Clocks Back In for 24: Redemption

Sunday November 23, 2008
After almost two years, Jack is back, but was he worth the wait? Set on-location in South Africa, 24: Redemption was created to bridge the gap between the four-year time span since we last saw Jack and where the series is headed this January. Has time and his missionary work changed him for the better?

The writers strike earlier this year was painful for everyone concerned, but it may have been the best thing to happen to Fox's 24. I've been an avid fan of the series for many years, but I'll be the first to admit that season six was sorely lacking the intensity we have come to know, love and expect from this show. I had decided to give this two-hour special a chance to see if it would draw me back in enough to make a decision as to whether or not I would give season seven my precious viewing time. The strike gave me the much-needed break I needed to begin missing those intense hours with Jack Bauer and company.

I'm happy to say that 24: Redemption met my expectations (and then some) and I can assure you that season seven will indeed earn a permanent spot on my DVR this January! Fans of the series will be delighted to know that a special DVD of 24: Redemption is set to be released on November 25 and it's packed with bonus features to keep fans busy for hours. Is the DVD worth your hard-earned cash? Find out what we think and decide for yourselves. Photo: ©2008 Fox Broadcasting Co. Cr: Kelsey McNeal
