The most devastating thing to happen to a television fan is the cancellation of their favorite show. 2008 was particularly difficult for the fans as 10 fantastic television dramas fell victim to the almighty axe.
In many cases, there isn't much one can do when a show gets canceled. By the time a network decides to issue those pink slips, the damage has been done and their minds are usually made up. However, prevention the best course of action to take in order to avoid losing your favorite show.
You don't need to be a Nielsen family to give a series some additional popularity....
- If you love a show, write to the network and tell them.
- If you have Tivo, record the series even if you watch it in real time.
- Most of the networks provide free episode viewing on their websites, go watch the latest episode again.
- Find fan sites dedicated to your favorite show and band together with other fans to get the word out.
- Organize a fan campaign.
- Tell all of your friends and family to watch the show.
