Alex Kingston Returns to ER

As ER prepares to close their doors in March, former cast members continue to pop in for one last visit. The latest to check back into County General is Alex Kingston, who portrayed Dr. Elizabeth Corday for seven years.

Dr. Corday appears in the January 15 Neela-centric episode. In the episode, Neela is having an unsettling recurring dream following a hellish day trying to save a patient with sickle cell anemia. She'll be in for a big shock when she crosses paths with Dr. Corday while interviewing to be an attending physician.

ER has promised to pull out all the stops this season by bringing back some of its most popular characters. Anthony Edwards appeared in an episode last November, Noah Wylie is set to return towards the end of the series and Eric LaSalle will direct episode 14 (airing late January/early February).

As NBC prepares the final batch of episodes, viewers will likely see more popular faces return to County General. The big question many fans are asking is whether or not George Clooney will make an appearance before the final episode. I wouldn't count it out, but I also wouldn't count on NBC letting the cat out of the bag about a surprise appearance by this much-loved character.
