Oh boy, here we go again with the behind the scenes drama over at Grey's Anatomy.... Katherine Heigl is leaving the series along with T.R. Knight!
According to US Magazine, Grey's Anatomy star James Pickens Jr. confirmed that both actors are indeed leaving the show this season. Several sources have also confirmed this news to the magazine, and one source even went so far as so say that the show will leave the door open for Knight's character to return one day.
This news should come as no surprise to those who have followed the sordid drama on the set of Grey's Anatomy. I think the writing was on the wall when Heigl took herself out of the Emmy race because the writers had failed to give her adequate material last season. Once the news broke a couple of months ago about Knight leaving the show, I think most of us knew it was only a matter of time before Heigl (his real life BFF) would follow him out the door.
How will Izzie leave the show? Is Denny really "there for Izzie" and will she follow him into the light so the two can spend all of eternity together? Will George and Izzie's departure sink the show or has it already jumped the shark? Post your thoughts below.

I truly believe that “jumping” is the operative word when it comes to Grey’s. Only it should refer to “jumping bones”. There is way too much of that in this medical drama.
If they would just cut the bed-hopping and focus on the medical portion of the show–I don’t think the show would have as much negative publicity, and would have thrived instead of losing its audience.
The “am I gay, am I straight” stuff is way out of hand now.

The show jumped the shark long ago when Meredith survived drowning despite spending half of the show underwater. They should have just let her character go at that point and saved all of us having to put up with her childish/petty behavior. There are far more interesting/better characters on the show than Meredith, with the exceptions of Izzy (whose mental condition is getting very old) and George (who is now practically non-existent on the show).
I love the show. But things have changed. They need to get more back into the medical part of the show. I hated the story line with Denny showing back up and I can’t stand the part of Callie trying to figure out if she is a lesbian. I think they need to get it back to where it used to be a couple of years ago. And I do not want to see Issy or George leave.
i love grey’s. I love all the characters and have watched the series since it started. The story has taken some interesting twists and turns, but i still find it to be just as entertaining as it always has been. it’s a night time drama, what do you expect?! I LOVE Katherine Heigl. I will be sorry to see her go. Grey’s won’t be the same without her!
thank god katherine is finally leaving. i will kinda miss t.r., although like someone else said, his character is practically nonexistent now. I’m just glad that now we won’t have to listen to katherine complain all the time anymore. Hopefully after a couple more awful rom coms she’ll disappear and won’t have to hear from her again period.
I love both Katherine and T.R., I do agree that T.R. has been pretty much in the background, but I still love his character. Although I am not crazy about the Denny/Izzie story, I am loving her with Alex. What will happen to him? I’m not really crazy about Callie’s storyline either, but I haven’t stopped watching because of all these story “issues”. I look forward to it every week. How are they going to fill these voids now?
I hate the Meridith character. She is such a whiner and narcissist. I can’t believe they made her the main character. I watch the show because I love it, but I also love the Izzy character and Kathryn Heigel. The writers have been off the deep end though about the Denny character (boring) and Callie’s sexuality issues. Boring also. It used to be a really great show. If Izzie is written off I won’t be watching any more.
If Izzie leaves the show, I’d give up watching.
I absolutely love this show. They will both be missed but it wont stop me from watching the greys. Although there are some rediculous stories going on right now, if you have watched it from the beginning you would know that the non sense will soon pass.

I agree with a previous comment I stopped watching the show after the merideth drowning episode, however I got back into it three episodes ago and decided to watch all the episodes of season 5 online. I actually found Izzie’s role to be painful to watch. I don’t know what the writers were thinking, it was terrible! I loved Denny and Izzie the first time around, and I actually cried. They should’ve kept him dead. I also can not stand Dr.Hunt (the army doctor?), his story bores me and is overdramatic. I really don’t want Izzie to die though, just because I love seeing Alex and Izzie together! I also enjoy the new focus on Alex. I also like Dr. Sloan and little grey, so cute!
However, if there is going to be another Derek and Merideth on-and-off thing again I will never watch the show again. I can’t take it anymore.
Izzy sucks and since Denny came back dead I hate the show. If Mer and Der break up again I may barf
ER also has the problem of everyone sleeping with everyone else, as well as pushing political agendas. But I still love Grey’s. I hate to see Katherine or TR go, I was still rooting for their relationship to restore, but I do love the development in Alex and don’t want him to get hurt. If Iz and George are leaving, I hope Iz beats the odds on the MM and they two of them get back together and leave together (like Ross & his gal left together on ER). Something tells me they are going to kill Izzy, though. Oh, and I HATE the direction they are going with Derek.

Izzie has a disease with a 3% survival rate, George has not had a storyline for a while now, Meredith still has the same issues she had at the start of the series, Derek has gone insane, Cristina’s gone weird and Dr Bailey has been struggling with the same issue since for way too long. I used used to love Grey’s Anatomy, now I’m not too sure…
the show is still powerful despite izzy and george leaving. George leaving will not leave that much of an impact, considering he has been a wallflower since Izzy went nuts. Also, Izzy has been nothing but annoying since Denny died. I mean, think about it, it is a writer’s duty to bring a hated character back into the light. When Denny died, a lot of people got annoyed with the Izzy character, myself included. Now that she’s dealt with the Denny case, and started to become “normal” again, writers obviously have to write her off in the most dramatic way possible.
Grey’s needs to stop all the bed hopping.The character of Alex is repulsive! If Derrick and Meridith break up again I too will barf and quit watching. Give TR more of a role; have they forgotten he’s still in the cast? Get rid of Denny; for crying out loud he’s DEAD! Katherine needs to stay, she has talent and improves the show. Bring abck the Chief’s wife, she’s a GREAT actress. Give Sandra Oh a storyline, she’s also GREAT and very talented. BUT, quit the bed hopping!
Am I the only one that liked the storyline with Izzy and “dead” Denny? I thought it was intense. I’ve watched the show since day one and I can’t tell you that I have enjoyed every single episode but I keep watching. I will miss Katherine Heigl but she will probably be happier out making movies. I’m just going to continue to watch and see what they come up with next…..
I do believe the show will miss them both very much. This year the plots have been way out there with little depth to the characters. The only part the writers have shown us lately is sexual preference. Pleeeease. There is more to friendship and romance than just who is sleeping with who. George and Izzy had a fun side that will be missed greatly.
I still like the show regardless of the nonsense of this season. I am tired of Kelly’s identity crisis, Izzy’s relationship with the death and Dr. Hunt unresolved trauma, sooo boring.
On the other hand, good stories have developed like Dr. Sloan and little Grey or Alex and Izzy. I love insensitive Christina and dr. Bailey.
Izzy will be missed. Not too sure about George.
Wherever the show leads to I’ll stay loyal and continue watching.
I wish they would save Izzy and O’Mally. My vote would be to get rid of Patrick Dempsey. I absolutely can’t stand his character. They should find a new brain surgeon. He is a horrible actor.

Ok, I love Izzie. Granted she is off her rocker here lately… but she has cancer that is effecting her mentally. Denny? He is not back from the dead, she is imagining him. It is truly a twist in the plot that at first i thought was stupid, but once explained why he was back – i found it to be heart breaking!
I am also loving the fact that Christina is showing emotions.
But I do wonder. Will they actually kill her off, or is this a ploy to boost ratings?

Katherine has been wonderful in this role but if she isn’t satisfied with it then its her choice and should be respected.
Plus i really liked Danny and Izzie’s love story even when they brought him back as a “Ghost”

Damn it.This sucks.Grey’s Anatomy is turning into another ER.ER had a good ending when dr. carter came back for the finale but seriously the fact that half the doctors left or “died” and were replaced by other people is ridiculous and pathetic and does not need to happen with grey’s anatomy.burke,erica,and addison are all already gone.hunt replaced burke which is pathetic cuz he and christina are so wrong together.and now izzie and george are both leaving and they are having izzie leave by dying of skin cancer.this totally sucks cuz she and alex are meant to be together.

Patrick Dempsey was on The View in March 2009 and said that everyone has two more years on their contract & no one is leaving.
i will not watch it anymore once they are gone. I love Izzie. The dating dead bf was stupid but she doesn’t write the show. She is my fave and I can’t wait to see her in better roles on the big screen.

I love the show and loved Izzy, but after the whole ghost sex thing it started getting annoying and Katherine and TR’s b1tching and moaning is getting old….so move on! Leave the show and let’s get on with it. But I do have to say that George is non-existent. It’s painful to watch, he should’ve stayed in the interns group. Just make him leave cause his mom is dead or cause he’s hurt, he always seems to be hurt and confused. The dude is a downer!
I’m glad there is not alot of medical stuff and more relationship stuff. We get enough real life drama during the day. I’m going to miss both Izzy and TR but their characters have run their course. I love the new romance between the new guy and sandra O- yummy!

I agree Grey’s use to be my FAVORITE show ever. They looked at medicine and drama in a unique but believable way. Now the charecter of Izzy and George is quite awful… It’s like going through the motions to kill time. The writers use to have such zest. Christina and Bailey were so strong now they appear weak and all over the place.. Callie and George should just get back together and leave that whole am I gay or not crap alone. What happened to Meridith’s character being the lead off from her mom being a great surgeon? Her and Derick should be married already and it actually works after all the drama and Mer step in her rightful place. Dr. Hunt’s character sucks. Private Practice with Addison is out shining Grey’s. Reflect writers and get ur audience back please we are trying to hang on but alot of this bed hopping and foolishness is taking away from the show. S.O.G. (save our grey’s) it was to good to be where it is now…
I really love the show me and my husband watch it, but i agree with the wother writer that the I am gay Im not gay thing is getting really out of hand leave it as one or the other!!!BUT I really DO love Katherine and T.R Knight (izzy and George) and I really hate to see them go as they are just as much apart of the main chacraters to me as ellen pompae and Mr. McDreamy. Izzy and George are my favorite characters!!! I cried when I found out they were leaving!! I know its just a show but I feel so bad for Alex… He finally realized he loves Izzy and she’s Dying. But at least Izzy will get to be with Denny.. I’m sure going to miss her and George.

i think the show will be horrible if they both leave. Izzy is one of my favorites because shes so funny and random in the episodes and George is amazing and i dont like that hes leaving and is hardly even shown in the show anymore. but if they leave i dont think i would watch the show anymore.
I did not like the character Izzy, she was very annoying and I think the whole plot line with her and Denny was just crazy not very entertaining in my opinion. As for TR I have not like his character since Isiah Washington left the show. I am glad they are both leaving.

from the beginning of the show, characters have been going in and out. But globally, the scenario is SO GREAT. I don’t care what will happen to M. Knight or Miss Heigl. I really dont. I care about what will George do since Hunt told him he had found his specialty : trauma. I care about what will Karev do if Izzie die. But about nothing else. Why not just leave the whole debate here and watch TV ? There’s no way I would stop following such a brilliant show.

I think people need to put on their big kid pants and grow up. Yes, there’s a lot of bed hopping in the show and it would be better without it. At some point massive numbers of people were watching this show with all of the characters that are leaving and loved it. First, Katherine Heigel’s mental problems on the show were caused by aggressive cancer. Are people in this world really so heartless that they can’t follow long enough to find that out? Second, homosexuality is real and we have no given authority to judge it. It’s part of every day real life, it should be on t.v. It’s a free country people. If you don’t like it, don’t watch it. Third, if everyone has followed the show through every season, they would know that Meredith’s issues stem from a long life of family issues and mistreatment. Her behavior is the same behavior you’d see someone in real life portray when they’ve been treated like her. Get over it people. Turn the channel or something but quit the whining and complaining so that those of us who are grown up enough to be understanding of the issues portrayed in the show, can enjoy watching the show. There are over 500 other channels to choose from nowadays…try one.
There is a bunch of reports saying that T R isnt leaving the show but you know how that goes. I wish they would get rid of alex karovs character though, He thinks he knows everying.

I have watched Grey”s Anatomy since season one. I love the show and while I like T.R. Knight (George) I will not miss his leaving. Personally, I dont think he was given good story lines, and while he is a likeable character, he was not given the credit he deserves, so I will wish him all the best. I will however miss Katherine Heigl(Issy. I was enjoying her new story line with Karev. They both finally found love in each other. I
would have liked to see where it would end up. They are the only couple besides Derrick and Grey(from the original interns) to be in love and it would have made a geat story line to see who would be the first couple to have a child. We also need to see more medical story lines and less relationship story lines. I know that the show revolves around the interns, but their personal lives get so entwined with each other that you forget who slept with who. Anyway it is time for Grey and Derrick to real tie the knot and set an example for Lexi and Mark, who has finally found love. I also hope they eventually put Cristina and Dr. Hunt together. She deserves to be happily in love. It stunk when Burke left.
I will truly miss Katherine and T.R. They are the characters, as well as all of the others, who have made the show what it is today! I love the show and not only tape each episode, but purchase the DVDs as well for future viewings. My only wish is that the show would continue on during the summer months instead of leaving us hanging until fall.
The show is based on the character of Meredith Grey, but now with “little Grey” it has more opportunity to survive the leaving of any characters. It will be sad to see them go, but there are others to fill the gap.

I think that TR Knight should leave the show he acts like a big baby and not a true man. I do not think that Katherine should leave and I hope that on this last show she doesn’t and she just flat lines and that is how they end it so she will have an opening to come back next season. I highly doubt that the shows ratings will go down because everyone else is just as great and I know that everyone else is 10 times better than George.
Obviously no one’s leaving – both Izzy & George’s story lines were left open in the finale. Frankly I wouldn’t be sad to see George go — he’s always been a whiny little choad. Love Alex, and glad he finally got it right with Izzie — it will be sad if she dies, but I don’t see it happening. They’ll save her for now, and her cancer will reappear when her contract is up.

I think the hole Bailey issue is way under explained. What the heck ever happened with her and her hubby? What about their baby or her choice to go into pediatric medicine? That story line is just strange…
Oh and what about the chief and his new “father” like role with Meredith? What is that all about?
I like hunt with Christina. She has finally found someone as hardened by life as she is. Not as cute a match as her and Berk but it will do, for now…
Izzy and George should have anticipated this when they joined forces to get rid of Berk. They should have known that an axe with momentum doesn’t just stop swinging.
I do feel bad for Alex. He’s finally in love with a woman who fought so hard to love him. Why the writers would crush such a good storyline is beyond me. With all the medical depression all around, why not make a light at the end of the tunnel? And truthfully, how much more Meredith and Derek can we all stomach without some sort of distraction?
I hope this show lives on. I stopped watching ER because the storyline got way to predictable. I truly hope that Grey’s doesn’t fall victim to a similar circumstance with it’s fans.
I think Izzy and George are the two most grounded and modest characters on Grey’s. They keep the show grounded and real and they will truly be missed. As a fan I am disappointed, but I respect both actors’ decision to leave the show, again they will be sorely missed.
I wish that Katherine was not leaving the show!!! What a bummer!!! I loved that they brought Denny back. They shouldn’t have killed him anyway!!! I will continue to watch, although most of the story lines are getting quite ridiculous!!! The medical parts are awesome, the rest, so so!!

I think that with all the weirdness in the story line right now, that if they kill off Izzie and get rid of George alot of people will quit watching. Bringing Denny back was retarded and really a waste of time. It has made the character of Izzie too crazy. Cristina should not be with Dr. Hunt because he um tried to kill her, and the writers trying to push that is wrong. The 100th episode with Meredith & Derek letting Izzie and Alex have their perfect wedding was beautiful. Hopefully the story line will get better, they won’t kill Izzie and they can find some other way for her to leave the show if that is what she wants. It’s sad to say, but George really doesn’t have any lines anymore, they need to make his character more interesting. Katherine Heigl is a phenomenal actress. I don’t know if I would continue to watch if they killed her off. Especially if they continue to put such an emphasis on a Callie suddenly being a lesbian and Cristina being with Hunt.
I loved the Dead Denny story line. He is too hot for words and dead or alive i like watching him.

I love Izzie and George and don’t want either of them to leave, but I have to admit the show itself has become really silly. From Meredith’s drowning, to George’s marriage and break-up to Callie’s being gay. Everybody should make up their minds, Meredith should marry Derek and stay married to him, let Callie be gay and George should become a brilliant surgeon and get rid of all these new weird characters especially the guy with red hair and piercing eyes, he’s too dark and weird for the show. Izzie and Alex seem perfect for each. Just my two-cents worth.

I think it is a darn dirty shame that Izzy & George will no longer be on Grey’s Anatomy. They are part of the chemistry that made up the show and without it, it’s going to leave an awful void in the show. I would rather see Meridith’s sister leave, than Izzy or George, much less both of them.
It’s really sad to me that the show that was hole and complete is now being very torn apart… I don’t like it one bit, but hey… I’m just one person and I’m sure that nothing will change because of how I feel….

Why is Denny in there so much? I think they should cut him out and focus on Alex. He is still alive and going through hell. Having denny there just makes Alex and Izzie’s romance less real or important.
Never saw this coming. What a blow to the best show on t.v. To lose both these people may very well spell the “unraveling” of grey’s and I for one would hate to see that happen. I’ve watched every episode and loved every minute. I am in a state of shock. Tell me it isn’t so.

I am officially in a state of mourning. I hate that they are leaving the show I love love love george’s character. and izzy is awesome. Don’t they care about the fans? this is why there will never be another friends empire. Friends was and is the greatest sitcom ever, because everyone stuck it out to the very end. 10 years of ups and downs but none the less successful. If you do everything half way and quit then that’s all you can ever amount to is a half ass person. The fans make your career what it is. there is no room for ego’s and selfishness if you want long term success. you have to give 100% all the time not just when you feel like it.

Okay callie made up her mind weeks back that she is indeed gay so to those who say she is changing her mind all the time she is not..and greys would not be the same without meridith i love her and the show would go to hell without her so i am glad that she was saved from the drowing that was a great season. and it will be so different without izzy and tr knight but they have been wanting out for sometime now and if the show is holding them back from greater things then so be it. they will be missed if they do pass on next season. and hopefully alex wont be a prick next season

I have watched every single episode of Grey’s and have loved every minute of every show. The only thing I really wasn’t thrilled about what the whole Denny hallucination thing. Esp. the fact that Izzie and Denny supposedly had “sex”. I love Izzie and Alex together and was really looking forward to seeing where they were going to go. I knew that Izzie’s role was coming to an end and wasn’t thrilled about it but I was COMPLETELY BLINDSIGHTED by George turning out to be the dieing John Doe. I just hope they didn’t bite off more than they could chew because I would hate to see Grey’s go down the drain.

I will probably stop watching grey’s altogether if both of them leave. They’re both great actors and really make their presence felt despite the paltry roles the writers have been handing them. I agree that Patrick Dempsey shud quit..he’s really a terrible actor and the least convincing as a surgeon..a new love intrest for Mere might be a good idea to spice things up again.

I believe that Katherine Heigl will be leaving the show, while TR Knight will remain. If you look up Heigl’s upcoming film projects, she has one in 2009, another in 2010, and three more movies on top of that. She has clearly moved away from the small screen. Knight however has zero upcoming projects, meaning he will most likely be staying with the show or will be moving to an entirely new career path (which would be quite unlikely).

I do not want either of them to leave, I want izzy and alex to have a baby,mer and der to finally get married, callie do what shes doing and george become the best heart surgeon. little grey and mcsteamy to move in together. christina and a new dr (not the army guy hes out there), and lets get some new interns and be mean to them.
I liked the Izzie/Alex coupling but I am happy to see Katherine go. One problem I am having with watching the show anymore is the whole Callie thing. I think they should bring T.R. back and get rid of Callie. It just gets so boring to have her battle the “am I a lesbian or not?” question all the time. I look forward to next season though.
Grey´s needs to go back to the begginings where apart from the medical cases, there were really funny moments and parties, is like the youth has already gone there. I don´t think Izzy or George departure will help keeping the show audience level. Meredith, Derek, Christina, Izzy, George, Karev, Bailey, The chief, Callie and even Addison are Grey´s Anatomy itself.
So sad these characters are leaving the show.

I will hate to see Izzy and George go. I think we all fell in love with the characters. I agree with the Denny & Izzy drama. (Terrible) and Callie’s confusion of being straight or gay, also terrible. Get back to the old show. At least save George!

I loved Izzie and George. Two pure characters. I love Katherine and Knight. I know they’re great actors and will go on to greater things. Hell, Heigl already did. Why is she still with Grey’s? I mean, let’s face it, the show became ridicoulous and “jumped the shark” loooooong time ago.
The show will definetly sink without them specially after alex and izzies wedding it all started to get really hot! but it will suck and it will hurt to see alex move on next season!
My opinion, like anyone cares, is they should do whatever they can to save George and especially Izzy, and fire the writters and get someone writting for them that can provide an Emmy Winning storyline, Kudos to Katherine Heigl for standing up and stating that her charactor did not deserve an emmy that season! Anyone that has been TRUE to the show would see that accepting an emmy that season would have been as shocking as seeing T.R. Knight accept an emmy for his last seasons role! Producers get your crap together, save George and Izzy, fire your writters and get your show back on the top of the charts again. And yes it is an adult evening drama, gay people really do exist in our world today and (people really are trying to find and be confused by their sexual orientation) a lot of people jump around from bed to bed! So those of you complaining about the raunch in the show, need to step out of your backwoods houses or go back to watching “Little House on the Prairie”!!!!!!
If Izzie and George are gone, so am I. The rest of the cast is pathetic. There are much better shows to watch on Thursday nights.

i’ll miss george even though he just had some really crappy parts but i won’t miss katherine heigl. i mean she’s a great movie actress and she should stick to that but i never liked her for grey’s anatomy. i won’t miss her not comming back and least they leave it open to bring george back.
katherine isnt leaving she was on letterman the other night and shes back at work. TR is gone though coz she said she missed having him around.
I agree that these two characters stumbled a bit. Izzy’s character hit an all time low in the saving the deer episode and when’s the last time you saw her in an OR? I can’t even remember. But I think that her being sick made up for a lot of that weird behavior and now she’s gotten back to her stronger personality. I dont want to see her leave.
As for George, I love him and always have. and i hate the writers for just dropping his storyline. i think they could have worked him in. so i want them both to stay!!!
oh and yea the callie gay thing is annoying. but i have to say its alot more believable with arizona than it EVER was with erica

Being that George and Izzie are two of the original six (Mer, Alex, Christina, Derek and them), it’d be a fairly large impact with the two leaving. Maybe not on George’s part… He has had hardly any scenes in the past seasons.
My only concern is that, with Izzie gone, where will Alex go? He kinda has a dropped storyline then.

Let me start by saying, that from the very beginning i have loved the Izzie character! Every character on Grey’s is different in their own way, with different traits and flaws, just like in real life. Izzie with Denny was amazing and should not have ended so abruptly, and when Denny came back i cried. Obviously some parts of that reunion were a bit awkward, but if you paid attention to the side effects of the cancer from past shows you’d know that it was obviously part of her illness, and her character can not be blamed for that! It was very interesting to have the chance to “see” how the cancer was affecting her, other than being forced to assume. On another point, for pro Izzie, (and quite actually for anyone other than Meredith and Christina…..) Izzie has never been given an upper hand on the show or any real chance to strive as a doctor. as far as cutting the Denny’s wire….major brownie points, she loved him and was trying to give him the chance he deserved. She has suffered enough for that mistake, so it needs to be finished with. It seems the only doctors who can get away with whatever they want is Meredith and Christina and quite frankly i feel the show would be better with out the two of them. Meredith feels the need to sleep with everyone she works with while constantly and unfairly dragging Derek around on a short leash. Christina is cold and mean and really only cares about herself, no wonder they are friends, they seem to have no real redeeming qualities. Its unfair that Izzie is always left in the dog house by the two of them, but then again it probably for her own good, seeing as how i wouldn’t want her to turn into a cynical promiscuous tramp! Izzie is a very caring and warm character, and she knows whats important to her. She hardly deserves the poor treatment that Grey’s writers are throwing at her. She needs to be given her chance to succeed. With out Izzie i WILL NOT watch Grey’s anatomy, because doing so would mean i would be forced to see a shrink and start taking antidepressants. Meredith and Christina are down right depressing. Katherine Heigl is an amazing actress and a very large asset to the show, loosing her would cost the show big time, so ABC needs to seriously re-access their priorities and pay her more, because without her the show is crap!

ABC has control issues. They are angry at Katherine Heigl because she took herself out of Emmy running. They seem to be trying to turn this show into a “gay” show. Remember they got rid of Isaiah Washington because of that gay comment he made. Heigl & Knight leaving is going to make the show even more stupid then it is. Let’s see how long Grey’s Anatomy after this.
I think that once you start losing your original characters. The show doesn’t seem to be the same. It kind of changes the whole tone of the show

Izzy and George shouldn’t leave the show, in my opinion. I like them both… I do think the show will go crashing without them on the show. The shows everyone loves are losing the characters and losing viewers. Examples: CSI and Ghost Whisperer
This started out as a show I could not stay away from. This past year was not the best. Also, the dead Denny thing was ridiculous. Izzie became a whining woman and Merideth also got hard to swallow. Hope the writers come up with something really amazing because I am ready to check out of this hospital drama and get into a new show with some life in its veins. Sorry to sound negative. I just wish the writers would understand what the veiwers want to see.

The Grey’s story line is becoming a little redundant. The “love ‘em and leave ‘em” (by either death or betrayal) crap has been around since day one, but it’s starting to happen so often that’s it’s easy to predict. The whole show is becoming predictable. Although I love Grey’s and won’t stop watching, I’m a little disappointed this season. Honestly, I’m more sad to see George go than Izzy. Come on Grey’s, step it up!

This show actually peaked before the end of season 1. Why the HELL is it still on? All of the characters are annoying and whiny, and the writers, being desperate, have opted for shock factor in lieu of any creative spark. Only problrm is, these gay characters are neither shocking NOR interesting. Many better shows have come and gone already, but Gay’s Anatomy plods along slowly boring America to death. Good riddance to Izzy, George, whomever…do us all a favor and kill the entire cast off in the series finale- and the sooner, the better!
I think that whats happening to this show always happens, they need to keep uping the drama until it gets so ridiculous that the show itslef turns to crap. Who leaves, who stays, I love this show but its on its way down because of its own creators and the panic and need to stay poplular.
Before i read this article I looked at the date. and then read that they are going to leave Knight’s character so he could be back. I was thinking how that could happened when George died. Ghost Georgie coming your way!

Merideth is GREYs ANATOMY. She will be missed while on her hiatus. I loved Izzy & George and will miss them too. I am not too excited to see a bunch of new characters blended in this mix. If Merideth & Derek start getting less focus; then we’ll stop seeing Christina, Alex, Lexie & Sloan – and then Grey’s WILL be the next ER – I understand the producers want it to be the next ER and keep it around for years to come – but honestly, when George Clooney and some of the rest of that “core bunch” left – I quit watching. I have been a loyal Grey’s Fan from DAY 1 but if I start seeing less of those “Core characters” – I will stop watching too.
I agree that if they show less merideth/derrek – i will quit watching. As it is – and dont hate, but the gay lesbo stuff is just gross to me and not something i want to watch. i think i may have to quit watching just because of that.
i was happy knightly left – his character was so annoying anyway. As for heigle – i dont understand if she is just on hiatus or gone for good – there are conflicting reports on this. i thought it was 5 episodes to make a movie? Anyway, i thought they should get rid of her now husband on the show as he is an annoying character instead of izzy, but i wont lose any sleep over her leaving anyway. i would miss lexi, sloan and the chief along with, of course derrek, merideth and sandra oh’s characters, which would be deal breakers.
as for baily – seems there is no where for her to go now that the residents have ‘grown up”. she should move to private practice…
Meredith is Grey’s anatonmy. I HATE! that she is not on the show so much. I think they should have halted filming until she was able to make a come back after her pregnancy. I miss George (TR Knight). Not the new George, but the old George like in the first couple seasons. I will miss Katherine Hiegel too if she leaves for sure. Like everyone else… her poor character though… can they ever bring it back. But I hate all the new characters… I think it should be strictly Meredith, Derek, Cristina, Sloan, Alex,and Calli…
