Fringe CastThe little show that could is finally coming to an end.

Fox has announced that Fringe will air their two-hour series finale on January 18 -- which also happens to be the 100th episode. This season has placed the main characters in 2036 where the world is as volatile as one can imagine in a dystopian sci-fi realm.

Series creator J.J. Abrams weighs in: "It has been an absolute honor to have been a part of the weird and wonderful world of Fringe. I will always owe the cast and crew for pouring their hearts and souls into every dimension of this series."

Fringe has never been a ratings champ for Fox, but has stood out as a show purely powered by the impressive (and quite vocal) fan base. It has been the perfect example of a network that has actually listened to the fans for a change and took the whole picture (DVR usage, fan buzz, letter campaigns, etc.) into account when deciding the fate of the show each season. If only the other networks followed suit...

Just finished season four and am so glad that Fox approved a season finale. Fringe has been fantastic and I can’t wait to see how the series ends.

Even though I hate to see a good show end, I am so thankful to actually get an ending. If you are going to cancel a show, at least give us an ending. We are loyal to the show soyou should be loyal to us and show us you appreciate the fact we actually watched the show.

Always wondered why the Sci-Fi channel doesn’t pick up some of these great shows and carry them forward???
