Q: Is your character going to appear in the 24 movie?
James: "Oh boy, just like the character in the show, I'm taking it one day at a time."
Q: What's ahead for Bill this season?
James: "I think what you'll see that may be surprising is the relationship between Jack and Bill and how it evolves and yet at the same time, the threat we're all facing is so huge and the most terrifying aspect is that it actually can happen. It's not as far-fetched as some of the other seasons have been."
Q: What plot points can you spoil us with for season six?
James: "Jack's back from China, he's even more pissed than before, so that's bad news. Twenty-two months in China, in a cell being tortured would make anyone angry. We're going to have another visit from the President we love to hate from last year. There was a little bit of a hint last season of a relationship between Karen Hayes and Bill, that manifests itself somehow. We explore bigotry and racial profiling in a way that hasn't been done yet. I think the great thing about this season is you see a lot of behavior that you don't expect from the characters."
Q: What's ahead for you? Any projects?
James: "My wife and I make films together. We've made a few short films that have done really well. We're shooting a documentary right now called Showing Up. We're celebrating the actors audition process, but in terms of following actors around and that sort of thing, not in a reality way. Mostly just listening to actors talk about the process, actors we know, actors we don't in a way that exposes the process to be more than just actors trying to get work. If you're not in the business, you'll appreciate this work.
Q: Anything you'd like to say to the fans?
James: "Thank you for supporting us in our endeavors. I'm grateful to be working on the show they admire so much. I'm happy to do the thing I love and the people I'm doing it with. Who can ask for anything better than that?!"
