The surprise renewal after the "series finale" came as a big shock to millions of fans. Not much was left "hanging," but the series did end with the announcement of three sets of twins joining the Camden family in the coming months. Simon and Rose decided not to go through with their wedding. Sandy showed up with the baby in tow and told Simon they needed to talk. Is Simon the father after all?

In the season premiere we learn that poor Lucy has had a miscarriage. Lucy convinces Eric to let her deliver the Sunday sermon and she completely breaks down emotionally on the stand in front of the congregation.

Martin tells Sandy he wants to spend more time with her and their son (is it really his son?).

Sandy decides to switch majors and become a Minister - a move which upsets the emotionally fragile Lucy.

Jewel appears in this episode as a neighbor whose singing lulls Savannah to sleep every night.
