2008 Golden Globes Nominees & Winners

After much controversy due to the ongoing writers' strike, the scaled down Golden Globe Awards took place under the control of the Hollywood Foreign Press. Access Hollywood's Nancy O'Dell and Billy Bush hosted a news conference, announcing the winners over at NBC, while the actual live ceremony/news conference took place at The Beverly Hilton. No acceptance speeches, no musical numbers, no jokes -- this was perhaps, the most depressing awards ceremony ever!

With every nominee in the Best Actress in a TV Drama Series category being well-known in their own right, it comes as no surprise that Glenn Close took home the gold for her role on the FX drama Damages. The biggest surprise however, is that other than Tina Fey's win for NBC's 30 Rock, none of the major networks won a Golden Globe. Could this place networks such as HBO and FX on a bigger playing field?
