The People's Choice Awards became the first award ceremony victim of the year due to the painfully long writers' strike. CBS decided to forego the picket lines and massive ratings downer by opting to air a scaled-down PCA special. Hosted by Queen Latifah, the modified (and strike-friendly) awards special featured the winners being presented with their awards while on locations across the world.
Grey's Anatomy walked away the biggest winners of the night, as they dominated several of the television drama categories. Dr. Crabby Pants and the Vampire also made the winner's list.
