With three successful CSI series on the air, getting to know each of the characters can get a bit tricky if you haven't been tuning in from the very beginning. No worries, we've created this handy profile guide to help viewers get better acquainted with the characters from CSI: NY.
Gary Sinise as Det. Mac Taylor
A former (and decorated) marine who served in Desert Storm, Mac leads the pack as head of the crime lab. After losing his wife on 9/11, he is a little hesitant about getting involved with another woman and is a bit of a loner. Mac's compassion and keen observation allows him to see all sides of a case, allowing him to almost always get the bad guys.
Melina Kanakaredes as Det. Stella Bonasera
Considered to be a jack-of-all-trades, Stella's steely determination and intellect makes her one of the crime lab's most important assets. Her knack for picking the wrong guy, as well as trying to piece together her complicated past, has put the beautiful detective's life in jeopardy more than once. Maybe it's just me, but I'd love to see Stella and Mac together before the series ends one day -- their chemistry is undeniable.
Carmine Giovinazzo as Danny Messer
A true New Yorker to the core of his being, Danny possesses an unwavering loyalty to the job, making it obvious as to why he was hand-picked by Mac for his position in the crime lab. Danny is married to Lindsay and the two have a daughter.
Eddie Cahill as Det. Don Flack
Growing up in a family of New York's finest and having served as a detective in the homicide division for years, Flack is no stranger to the criminal element in the Big Apple.
Anna Belknap as Lindsay Monroe
She may be younger than most of the CSIs, but this Midwestern spark plug happens to be a priceless addition to the crime lab. Lindsay is never afraid to take on those big, complicated cases, especially if it means she gets to step out of her comfort zone to help solve a case. Lindsay is married to Danny and the two have a daughter together.
Hill Harper as Dr. Sheldon Hawkes
Before transferring to the CSI field team, Sheldon, a brilliant PH.D., worked as the coroner in the crime lab, which allows him to bring to the table a very unique point of view when trying to dissect those difficult cases.
