Sherlock Holmes (Played by Jonny Lee Miller)

We've all read or watched movies about the infamous Sherlock Holmes, but the only the only common theme is that this legendary character is one of the world's most talented investigators and that is where the similarities end for the most part. In this version, Sherlock is a former consultant for Scotland Yard (which is where he met Captain Tobias Gregson of the NYPD). After a stint in rehab, Sherlock decided to remain the United States as he believes the cases to be much more interesting and plentiful than in England. Once he is released from rehab, his father insists that he be accompanied by a "sober companion" named Joan Watson. With his trusty sidekick, Sherlock is a consultant for the New York Police Department. His methods may be disturbing and often disruptive (not to mention sometimes illegal), but one way or another he gets the job done -- not caring who he alienates in the process.
When he's not solving crimes, Sherlock is a loner who harbors a deep resentment for his father and regularly gives Watson a hard time as he doesn't feel he needs a babysitter. Episode by episode, these two seem to learn more about each other and a mutual respect is slowly forming. Sherlock was in love with a woman named Irene, who we have learned died before he went to rehab. About Jonny Lee Miller
Jonny hails from the UK and upon arriving in the States following a moderately successful acting career, Miller landed a role in the movie Hackers
alongside Angelina Jolie
, whom he later married. After appearing in several films, Miller tried his hand at the small screen, where he starred in the title role in ABC's Eli Stone
, the short-lived series Smith
and then a recurring role in Showtime's hit series Dexter
Dr. Joan Watson (Played by Lucy Lui)

For the first time in the Sherlock Holmes world, the character of Watson is being played by a woman. Hired by Sherlock's father to be a "sober companion," Watson's job is to live with him, check him regularly for drug use and follow his daily activities, which often include assisting the NYPD on cases. Before her position as Sherlock's trusty companion, Watson was a successful surgeon until a malpractice suit altered the course of her promising career in medicine. She deeply cares for Sherlock and is determined to help him break down that wall that threatens his sobriety. About Lucy Lui
After graduating from the University of Houston with a degree in Chinese Language and Culture, Lucy headed down a completely different path and pursed acting. Her big break came when she landed a small role in the hit Fox series Ally McBeal
-- a role that was only meant to be short term. Overthe years, Lui has starred in movies such as both Charlie's Angels
films, Shanghai Noon
, Kill Bill: Vol. 1
and Kung Fu Panda
. She also starred in the small screen dramas Dirty Sexy Money
and Cashmere Mafia
Captain Toby Gregson (Played by Aidan Quinn)

Gregson first met Sherlock when he was working for Scotland Yard. He was immediately impressed with Sherlock's deductive reasoning skills and often asks the detective to assist on cases. When Sherlock steps out of line (which happens quite often), Gregson seems to be the only one capable of keeping Sherlock at bay. We don't much yet about Gregson's past, but we do know that his previous partner planted evidence in order to get a conviction against a serial killer.
About Aidan Quinn
Unlike many actors, Quinn did not grow up in the business, in fact he was a roofer. At the age of 19, Quinn appeared in a theater production and the acting bug hit. Quinn got his big break when he was cast as Madonna's love interest in the movie Desperately Seeking Susan. Over the years, he has appeared in a number of movies and TV series including Legends of the Fall, Benny & Joon, Michael Collins, In Dreams and Practical Magic.
Detective Marcus Bell (Played by Jon Michael Hill)

Not much is known about Detective Bell, but we do know that he has had a difficult time understanding why Sherlock is constantly involved in his cases -- in fact, I think he resents the detective for honing in on his territory. He is slowly warming up to Sherlock, but it's going to be a long road to mutual respect between these two. About Jon Michael Hill
Hill is very new to the acting business and other than appearing in several theater productions, he has only had a couple of guest starring roles in dramas Person of Interest
and Law & Order: SVU
