As the series comes to a close, Nina, who is preparing to move to Los Angeles with Jake, finds out that Andy has bought her an engagement ring. When Jake finds out about the ring, he goes right to Andy to find out why he won't let Nina go.

At Delia's Bat Mitzvah, Amy realizes her feelings for Ephram are as strong as ever as she watches him with his new girlfriend Stephanie. When she tells Stephanie about her feelings, Stephanie decides she must do whatever she has to in order to keep Ephram all for herself.

After the death of Irv, Edna decides she needs to leave Everwood, which upsets Harold and Rose.

Harold and Rose are shocked to find a baby has been left on their front doorstep.

Bright finds out that Hannah has been offered a scholarship to Notre Dame and realizes he may lose her forever.

Two endings were shot for the finale. The ending that would've aired had Everwood been renewed involved a phone call from Madison, asking Ephram to come and meet her. Apparently, the writers were going to re-explore the Madison/Ephram/baby storyline.
