When Flight 627 lands at Boston’s Logan Airport with no signs of life on it, a special task force led by FBI Special Agent Olivia Dunham is sent to investigate. Olivia's partner, Special Agent John Scott, is almost killed during the investigation, which leads her to seek the help of Dr. Walter Bishop, an incredibly brilliant man who has been institutionalized for the last 17 years. After Olivia's investigation leads them to multi-billion dollar corporation Massive Dynamic, the entire team soon learns that what took place on Flight 627 is just the tip of the iceberg....

Five Stars? Is it that good?

It's extremely rare that I will give a five-star review - not because I don't feel a show is worth the highest honor. I think by not giving five stars to every great show I review, it allows room for improvement and most importantly, viewers will know that when I bestow a series with this mark, you all will understand exactly how series I am about the quality of the show.

Is it worth your precious viewing time?

Yes - a resounding yes! Fringe is the perfect show for viewers who are looking for the complete package containing high doses of mystery, action, thrills, drama and even some laughs along the way.

The dysfunctional relationship between Walter and Peter Bishop (father and son) makes these two the perfect match, and I can't wait to find out why there is so much animosity.... and so many secrets. When you add Olivia's character into the mix, you wind up with a multi-faceted team who will enter our living rooms each week and keep us intrigued for a long time to come.

What I love about this series is that it takes this exasperating subject of fringe science and turns it into a completely believable premise. I actually found myself wondering what sort of discoveries have been made that we have yet to hear about or even see with our own eyes.

What does 'Fringe' mean?

The dictionary defines the word fringe as: "the outside boundary or surface of something." In the series, the word refers to Fringe Science, the "outside sciences" such as teleportation, reanimation, time travel, etc. We learn in the pilot episode that Walter Bishop spent many years working in this branch of science.

Fringe caters to viewers who like to think outside of the box and have a penchant for action and mystery/sci-fi, so if you like(d) shows such as Alias, Heroes, Lost and Supernatural, I think you're going to thoroughly enjoy Fringe!
