Previously on Grey's Anatomy....

Izzie risks Denny's life in order to beat out another heart transplant recipient, who made it to the list 17 seconds before Denny. Denny receives the heart, proposes to Izzie (who accepts), but dies soon after the surgery. Burke makes it through surgery, but his hand is left damaged. The season-long sexual tension between Meredith and Derek results in a passionate encounter. As the episode ends, Meredith sees Finn, who asks her to come home with him, but Derek wants her to go with him. Who will Meredith choose?

Season three picks up right where we left off, with Meredith having to make a choice between Derek and Finn. It doesn't look like a choice will be made right away. Rest assured folks, Meredith will indeed ultimately choose Derek in the long run!

The interns help Izzie deal with the death of Denny and it won't be an easy road for poor Izzie.

The chief has some troubles when his wife rips him a new one after he spends the night at the hospital.

George asks someone we'd never expect for advice on his relationship with Callie.
