'Law & Order: CI' Cast:

Trivia Fact #1:

Chris Noth and Vincent D'Onofrio share the spotlight on the show. They each appear in half of the episodes. The same goes for their counterparts, Annabella Sciorra and Kathryn Erbe.

Trivia Fact #2:

Vincent D'Onofrio collapsed twice on the set due to exhaustion.

Rae's Take:

Like the other two Law & Order shows, this one is timeless and can be watched at any given time, without having to follow a storyline. This series is a bit edgier than the other two. Vincent D'Onofrio's portrayal of Det. Robert Goren is incredible and at times, a bit eerie.

Synopsis:

This show takes a little bit of a different tone than the original Law & Order as we don’t always see the crime in the trial phase and it focuses more on the psychological aspect of the suspect. Detective Goren (Vincent D’Onofrio) takes us through the crime in the suspect's mind and presents his thoughts to his partner Detective Eames (Kathryn Erbe).

Det. Goren’s ever returning nemesis Nicole Wallace (Olivia d'Ado) seems to be the only one that he matches wits with and she seemingly wins in the end. Together, Dets Goren and Eames walk us through the crime and then present their case to ADA Ron Carver (Courtney B. Vance).

The show also shares its weekly time slot with two other detectives: Det. Mike Logan (Chris Noth) and Det. Barek (Annabella Sciorra). Some of us may have loved Chris Noth on Sex in the City, but some of us really missed his dry sense of humor and witty quips as Det. Logan on the original Law & Order.

After punching a City Councilman, Det. Logan was exiled to a desk assignment in Staten Island. Returning to active duty he is given a small desk in the squad room and looked at by fellow detectives as a “hothead,” is partner, Det. Barek, is a profiler formerly with the FBI. Together they use her skills and his reputation to elicit confessions from suspected offenders of the law.
