A group of beautiful 20-somethings living in an apartment complex navigate their way through all the trials and tribulations life has to offer. The complex is run by the conniving Sydney Andrews (who viewers from the '90s series will fondly remember), who is on a self-destructive path and determined to take down everyone in her path. The pilot episode introduces viewers to each of the characters in the wake of a tragedy, in which they all become suspects. Not everyone is who they appear to be and every single one of the tenants have some serious skeletons in their closets.

Ella learns that her job is on the line unless she lands a major actor named Jasper. In a effort to save her job, Ella manages to convince David to take her to a big party in Brentwood.
Lauren goes on another "date" to earn more tuition money, and panics when she winds up at the same party Ella and David are attending.
The detective in the murder investigation turns his attention to Auggie, who gives viewers a peek into how he met Sydney in AA.

Jane Andrews Mancini (Sydney's sister) returns to her old apartment complex and announces that she is now the landlord. Before she has a chance to settle in, Jane blackmails Ella, forcing her to get a client to wear a Jane Mancini design to a red carpet event.
Lauren picks up a "client" who refuses to pay her and then roughs her up a bit. Upon leaving the hotel, a powerful madam offers to help Lauren with her career.

Ella and Riley go to the first photo shoot with Anton V and meet former Melrose Place resident, Jo Reynolds (played by Daphne Zuniga). Jo and Riley don't exactly hit it off when the shoot goes flat. Riley is further shocked when Jo suggests she pose topless in order to get the right shot.
Jonah is placed in a difficult situation when a film producer’s development executive invites him for drinks.
Lauren finally uncovers David's dirty little secret.
Violet tries once again to get Auggie's attention.

8. 1x08 "Gower" (OAD: 11/3/09)
Riley and Jonah spend some quality time together when she helps him film a wedding. The two wind up having a major falling out right in the middle of the ceremony.Riley ends her friendship with Auggie.
After finding an envelope full of cash and loads of expensive new clothes, Ella puts two and two together and comes to the realization that Lauren is a prostitute.
Through a series a flashbacks going back to the day he met Sydney, David worries that he may be the one responsible for her death.
9. 1x09 "Ocean" (OAD: 11/12/09)
All the residents at Melrose Place are shocked when the police show up to search Auggie's apartment after they found his fingerprints on Sydney's murder weapon. Riley winds up tipping off the police about Auggie's whereabouts.Jonah pretends to be Ella's fiance when she gets into a situation with a client.
David's secret play date with his brother Noah gets him into big trouble when the little guy gets hurt. Michael's wife freaks out, but he is surprisingly calm and understanding with David.
10. 1x10 "Caheunga" (OAD: 11/17/09)
Amanda Woodward returns! Upon Amanda's arrival at WPK, she promptly fires half of the staff, including Caleb. She does seem to take a liking to Ella, who learns from Caleb that Amanda has shown quite an interest in her.Amanda works with Ella on the Anton V launch party and her first test comes when she must convince Riley to lie about her background. The rouse works for a few minutes until Riley realizes she is incapable of lying to reporters. Ella's job is safe...for now.
David prepares a romantic night for Lauren and things get very hot and heavy until reality (her being a prostitute) sets in and she puts on the brakes.
Amanda goes into Sydney's safe and pulls out an envelope that tells her she'll never find what she's looking for.
11. 1x11 "June" (OAD: 12/1/09)
Seems like old times -- Amanda moves into Sydney's apartment (while her mansion is being built of course) and instantly gets things stirred up among the residents.... starting with David.Amanda and Michael Mancini reunite.
David and Lauren continue to get closer.
Ella uses her charm to land Jonah a job.
