- After barely scoring a fifth season renewal, the series changed gears and jumped ahead several years in the future. It was the best move the show could have made as it seemed to breathe new life into this struggling series.

Music on One Tree Hill can almost be consider a character of its own. Many big artists have appeared on the show including Nick Lachey, Fall Out Boy, Gavin DeGraw, and Sheryl Crow.

Aside from a love for hoops, it seemed that Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) and Nathan (James Lafferty) were two young men with little in common, but they were bound by the fact that they share the same father. The star of the high school basketball team, Nathan hails from a wealthy family, while his half-brother Lucas is the only child of a single mom.
Despite their differences (and a couple of years), the brothers do bond and become close.
Nathan is married to his high school sweetheart Haley and the two have a son named Jamie.
Lucas is married to Peyton (in season 6) and they have daughter named Sawyer. The happy family left town at the end of season 6.
With those high school years behind them, One Tree Hill jumped ahead into the future where Lucas is a published author, and Nathan is in a deep depression after a major injury leaves him almost paralyzed.
