Premise:
Cassie Blake was living a charmed life until her mother dies in a fire and she is forced to go live with her grandmother. Immediately upon arriving in the town, Cassie is soon befriended by a group of classmates, all of whom happen to be descendants of a powerful group of witches. They explain to Cassie that they have been waiting for her to arrive and she soon learns how to unlock her magic powers, completing the coven known as the Secret Circle.

Despite the success of The Vampire Diaries, The Secret Circle wasn't the hit with viewers the CW had hoped it would be, forcing the network to cancel the drama at the conclusion of season one.

Cassie: Upon arriving in this strange little town, Cassie is still feeling her way around the whole "you're a witch" revelation, but is taking it all in stride one spell at a time. She may seem sweet and innocent, but deep down Cassie has a little good vs. evil thing going on when it comes to her feelings for Adam. Once she learns that she is the key to binding the circle together, she accepts the path she must walk down in order to keep those she loves safe from harm. Will she be strong enough to take down the adults in town who are determined to go forward with their deadly plan?
Adam: Like Cassie, there is an innocence and sweetness to Adam and perhaps that's why the two are destined to be together (as it is written in the stars). Adam currently dates Diana... for now.
Faye: The troublemaker of the group, Faye clearly loves pressing people's buttons and pushing her powers beyond the limits. If she's not careful, she may very well expose the members of the Secret Circle.
Diana: As the leader of the Secret Circle, most of the responsibility falls on Diana's shoulders, which includes taking Cassie under her wing to help unleash her full potential.
Melissa: Faye's sidekick and fellow troublemaker.
Nick: Cassie's neighbor who seems unusually interested in getting to know her much better.
The Adults
Charles Meade: The man responsible for murdering Cassie's mother.
Dawn: Faye's mother and the high school principal. She and Charles have a sinister agenda brewing. Dawn and Charles are the people responsible for bringing the Secret Circle together and my guess is they are planning to use the massive power the teens are able to generate as a coven to put their deadly plan into motion.
Ethan: Adam's father, the town drunk. Ethan was deeply in love with Cassie's mother and clearly never got over her leaving town 15 years ago.
