Clark's crystal that Tess discovered near the Fortress of Solitude becomes the subject of a new experiment. However, once the test gets underway, it emits a beam of light into the universe.

The beam of light doesn't come without consequences as it culminates in the arrival of a woman named Maxima, a queen from the planet Almerac who is convinced her soulmate sent the light.

Who thought a simple kiss could actually be a kiss of death? As Maxima searches for her soulmate, her powers turn out to be too much for her unsuspecting victims - when she kisses a man, she kills him!

Jimmy's life is in mortal danger when Maxima sets her sights on him.
