This series revolves around a tight-knit group of criminals lead by a mysterious man named "Smith." With the FBI hot on their trail, the main character, Bobby Stevens (Ray Liotta) is determined to follow through with just a few more heists before retiring from the business in order to live a normal life with his family.

Is it Worth Your Precious Viewing Time?

While I was not blown away by the pilot episode, I do see quite a bit of potential in this series. I liked that they gave us a timeline of how the events leading up to and including the robbery take place. The history between the characters is quite apparent and plentiful, with the promise of deep story telling on the horizon. What I felt was missing was the edginess and suspense a series such as Smith should include as a mainstay to keep viewers involved. Should you give it a chance? Absolutely -- don't get me wrong folks, this series truly is wonderful and like a fine wine, will get better with age.

Chance of Survival?

Smith doesn't face huge competition, but it is up against two established shows: Boston Legal and Law & Order: SVU. Viewers who have tired of one or the other will most likely turn their attention towards the excellent cast of Ray Liotta, Simon Baker and Virginia Madsen.
