Executive Producer Veena Sud Explains...:

Series E.P./Showrunner and writer Veena Sud describes this very different type of crime drama as: "slow-burn storytelling in a sense that every moment that we don't have to prettify or gloss over or make something necessarily easy to digest, that we're able to go to all sorts of places that are honest, and dark, and beautiful and tragic, in a way that is how a story should be told."

'The Killing' Extras:

Three Stories Come Together:

The Detectives
Naturally, where there is a crime drama, there are the people trying to solve the murder. Homicide detective Sarah Linden (who was just about to leave the department and move to California with her son to get married) is drawn into the case on her last day of work and partners up with her replacement, former undercover narcotics cop Stephen Holder. As the case begins to unfold, the two cops investigate every possible angle and leave no stone unturned.

The Larsen Family
Mitch and Stan Larsen are Rosie's grieving parents. This hardworking, blue collar family tries to give their kids a better life than they had growing up and are determined to get out of their bad neighborhood and move to the suburbs... but will their secrets tear them apart?

The Congressman
Seattle City Councilman Darren Richmond is running for mayor, but the murder of Rosie Larsen puts his campaign in jeopardy when the young girl's body is found in the trunk of one of Richmond's campaign vehicles. Slowly, secrets about the councilman come out thanks to someone very close to him. Is he being set up to look like the killer or will he turn out to be the killer himself?
