'Private Practice' Overview

Sick of dealing with her ex-husband and ex-lover, Addison Montgomery leaves Seattle Grace behind and heads to beautiful Los Angeles to join a private practice with her old med school friends. Will Addison finally find true love and figure out a way to have a baby before it's too late?

Meet the Team at Oceanside Wellness
  • Addison's college friend Naomi and her husband Sam run Oceanside Wellness and invite Addison to join their unusual practice. Sam and Naomi are divorced (with a teenage daughter), but share a fairly comfortable working situation - however, the sexual tension between these two is undeniable.
  • With love being the last thing on Addison's mind, she quickly throws herself into her work, but her hot new colleague Pete (an alternative medicine specialist) soon begins to invade her thoughts and dreams. Will these two eventually become a couple?
  • Violet (a neurotic psychiatrist) and Cooper (the playboy pediatrician) have their own dysfunctional relationship, making life at Oceanside Wellness fun and interesting at all times. Cooper has a major crush on Violet, but she just doesn't see it since she spends her time obsessing about another man.
  • Rounding out the group is Dell, the office manager/midwife, who is secretly in love with Naomi.
With all of the drama going on at Oceanside Wellness, can this group of talented doctors successfully treat their patients while working out their own issues?

Is it worth your hard-earned cash?

Those who loved the character of Addison Montgomery on ABC's Grey's Anatomy will fall in love with her all over again as she reinvents her life and career at Oceanside Wellness. Although this series was met with mixed reviews, from the very first episode, I anxiously awaited the next new episode every week. Each character has a unique and endearing quality, their chemistry undeniable. The deeper the series delved into the lives of these doctors, I found the cases they took on equally as fascinating -- especially since TPTB (the powers that be) managed to find a way for many of the patients to interact with each of the doctors in the practice.

Due to the late date the writers strike was resolved, season one was cut to nine episodes. Is this DVD worth the money? I wasn't overly impressed with the bonus features, however, for those who plan to stick with this series, season one is a vital resource to secure for your future collection.
