The writers' strike dealt a major blow to the television industry, and while the other networks were able to get most if their shows back into production, Fox wasn't quite as lucky.
Fans of 24 were devastated when they learned that season seven would be placed on hold until 2009. Two years would pass without a Jack Bauer fix! On November 23, Fox will give viewers relief from that fix with a two-hour special that serves as a prequel to season seven of 24. Fox describes the prequel as such: "Shot on location in South Africa, Jack Bauer battles an international crisis, while here at home the nation prepares for a new president on inauguration day."
This fall on Fox, two of the most brilliant and innovative minds in television are bringing viewers two absolutely thrilling series that are sure to keep us glued to the tube every single week. Fasten those seatbelts folks, the 2008-09 television season on Fox promises to be one of the most exciting yet!
Canceled: Canterbury's Law, K-Ville and New Amsterdam.

Dollhouse - Midseason

Premise: Joss Whedon, best known for being the mastermind behind Buffy, Angel and Firefly, takes viewers into an underground world of real life, human dolls. The "Dollhouse" is a facility run by a secret (and illegal) group who have had their memories and personalities completely removed. When each doll is assigned a new mission (called engagements), they receive a new personality that is programmed to the specifications set by the "engagement." As one of the dolls begins to piece together her past, she embarks on an extremely dangerous journey of self-discovery.
Fringe
Cast: Anna Torv as Olivia Dunham, Joshua Jackson as Peter Bishop, John Noble as Walter Bishop, Lance Reddick as Phillip Broyles, Kirk Acevedo as Charlie Francis, Mark Valley as John Scott, Blair Brown as Nina Sharp and Jasika Nicole as Astrid Farnsworth.
Premise: J.J. Abrams, best known for being the creative genius behind Lost, Alias and Felicity, takes viewers on a journey that will "thrill, terrify and explore the blurring line between science fiction and reality." After landing at Logan Airport, the passengers and crew of Flight 627 are found brutally murdered. As the FBI begin their investigation, they realize the one man who can lead them down the right path has been institutionalized for the last 20 years. When the team delves further into the investigation, they come to the shocking realization that the events that took place on Flight 627 are only a small piece of a much bigger problem.
