If the world were a perfect place, all of my favorite shows would produce 52 episodes a year so that not one week would ever go by without a brand new episode. Alas, the television world can be a cruel place and in the case of Fox's Glee, us "Gleeks" are about to endure an unusually cruel wait for the next new episode once the series airs their fall finale on December 9.
That's right Gleeks, following the December 9 episode, the next new episode won't air until April 13. And it gets worse... to add insult to injury, when the series returns it'll air on a new night -- Tuesdays at 9pm, opposite Lost, NCIS: Los Angeles, Melrose Place and probably some soon-to-be canceled NBC series.
Fortunately for Glee, it'll have American Idol as its lead-in, but how will it stack up against the final season of Lost? How will viewers make the tough decision between all of the excellent Tuesday night offerings? Will Fox cut the show a little ratings slack if it doesn't hold an Idol-sized audience? Which show will you DVR? Sound off below....

Production on ABC's FlashForward has been shut down -- is our new addiction in trouble already? Relax, take a deep breath and take comfort in knowing that the series is safe... for now.
EW's Michael Ausiello was the first to break the news that the show had shut down production, setting off a flurry of articles all over the internet that had many speculating that the series was in big trouble following a drop in the ratings last week.
A rep from ABC confirmed to Ausiello that since they started production early in the season, they had the ability to take a little break. "They want to maintain the high quality of the show, and this gives the writers the opportunity to do so," the rep explains.
Production on FlashForward is set to resume on November 30. The fall finale airs on December 3.
Note to ABC -- if you decide to cancel this fabulous drama, please, oh please could you let us know how and why the whole planet blacked out? Does Demitri die? Will Olivia cheat on Mark? Will Mark solve the Mosaic case? Providing closure on the fates of the main characters would be an added bonus and might even go a long way in getting viewers to stop throwing things at their TV's.

Fans of NBC's Trauma can cancel that 911 call -- as it turns out, the series isn't as dead in the water as we were all led to believe!
According to The Hollywood Reporter, after deciding not to order additional episodes of the new fall series Trauma weeks ago, NBC has changed their minds and ordered three additional episodes (beyond the original 13-episode order). The first ten episodes are slated to air by the end of the year, but it's a little unclear as to whether the last six episodes will air before or after the Olympics.
Why would NBC choose to continue a series that is failing in the ratings and happens to be an expensive show to produce? I'd like to think that they are finally listening to the fans, but sadly the network is just simply lacking in the original series department.
Unless there is a massive surge in ratings, fans of Trauma should probably prepare for the worst and enjoy the thee-episode reprieve.
