It's that time of year again for Grey's Anatomy star Katherine Heigl to make her annual plea to leave the television series that helped make her a household name.
According to People, Heigl was due back on the set of the hit TV series on March 1 following a three-month maternity leave, but she never bothered to show up. A source close to EW states that she "was at home and ready to return to work."
In addition to her maternity leave, ABC has allowed Heigl to take quite a bit of time off this season so she could pursue film projects. She has only appeared in a handful of episodes this season and was scheduled to film five more episodes upon her return.
EW also reports that series creator Shonda Rhimes has finally granted Heigl her greatest wish of all -- to be let out of her contract with ABC. Both sides are apparently still hashing out all the details.

Jack Bauer's days of saving the country from terrorists may be coming to an end this May.
Variety reports that 20th Century Fox TV and the Fox network might be planning to finally stop the clock on the once-popular series 24. This news probably doesn't come as much of a surprise for current and former fans of the show who have watched the series suffer both creatively and in the ratings department.
Variety indicated that Fox may be shopping 24 to another network, but the high cost of production and declining ratings doesn't exactly make the show as marketable as it might have been a couple of years ago.
Should the series end this season, what will happen to Jack Bauer and CTU? A couple of years ago, Kiefer Sutherland indicated that a 24 movie was a very likely possibility in the future. As a fan of the show, I think I'd enjoy seeing Jack Bauer in action up on the big screen. What do you all think? Sound off below!

Imagine beginning your acting career and right off the bat, you get the opportunity to star in a film opposite Meryl Streep, Stanley Tucci, Adrian Grenier and Anne Hathaway. As if his role in The Devil Wears Prada wasn't enough good fortune for this up and coming actor, he then landed a role in what was to become television's hottest drama series, Mad Men as Harry Crane. His name is Rich Sommer and he's probably one of the luckiest actors in Hollywood!
I had the pleasure of speaking with this hilarious and very sweet actor about working with Meryl Streep, his latest gig on ABC's Ugly Betty, his role on Mad Men and how this role has changed his life....

It's hard to believe that it has been almost 20 years since the original Melrose Place hit the scene and became a huge cultural sensation in the '90s. The show also helped launch the careers of Marcia Cross, Doug Savant, Courtney Thorne-Smith and Kristin Davis.
When I think about the term 'the character you love to hate,' the very first image that usually comes to mind is the dastardly Dr. Michael Mancini, played by Thomas Calabro. The notorious womanizer wormed his way in and out of the hearts of some of show's most memorable women, but despite all of his wrongdoings, we just couldn't help but fall in love with this complex character.
As a diehard fan of the original series, imagine my delight when I learned that Calabro would return to the role he made famous when the CW decided to bring Melrose Place back to life! I had the immense fortune to speak with the charming (and very, very funny) actor about his decision to return to MP, what's ahead for the good doc and his favorite moments from the original series...
