Has Mandy Patinkin Lost His Mind?

Friday July 13, 2007
What is the best course of action when an actor wants a raise? The overused answer is they just don't show up on the set. Criminal Minds actor Mandy Patinkin isn't the first actor, nor will he be the last to not show up on the set for the first day of work. The gals over at E! Online were the first to report that Patinkin failed to show up on the set for the first table read of the season. CBS is keeping quiet about the situation, but Michael Ausiello over at TV Guide reports that a casting call has gone out for a character eerily similar to Patinkin's. Could this just be CBS' way of showing the actor that they aren't afraid to replace him? He may be a wonderfully talented actor, but Hollywood is full of talent and nobody is irreplaceable in show business. Why is it that CBS seems to hire difficult actors? If they're looking for someone to continue making waves, I hear Isaiah Washington is looking for work.

…Yes. CBS might just be hiring difficult actors…or maybe the actors are not difficult at CBS, and CBS is just too cheap to pay them what they are worth. CBS have very few hit shows, so it seem like they would want to do everything they can to keep a hit show going, and that might mean opening up their wallets from time to time.

Oh, I hear violins. The poor guy probably makes more for one episode than a doctor makes in one year!

I love this actor but, it seems like every time I get hooked up with one of his series like Chicago Hope or Crimmal Minds , he leaves the show I hate that alot I loved the others on the show , but he pulled it all together .
