Over the years, I've seen an incredible amount of great series shut out of the running, leaving me to wonder if the nomination committee was comprised of 100-year-old members who vehemently dislike sci-fi television series and/or shows that appeal to a younger demographic. Of course that's not true, but it does beg the question as to what it truly takes to be a contender.
While I found the Emmys mildly entertaining (Steve Martin was my favorite presenter), I have to admit that I was bored during much of the night. Was it me or did it seem as though there were more awards for mini-series and variety shows than ever before? The stars looked absolutely gorgeous this year and everyone seemed to have a wonderful night.
