The entire season has built to this moment -- Betty finally confronts Don about who he really is and the truth comes out in an incredibly emotional episode. Betty is understandably devastated and wonders if her entire marriage was a sham. She decides that she wants to destroy Don in court and take him for all he's worth. In addition to the big revelation, Sterling Cooper takes on a new client, who happens to be an old flame of Roger's. The product is dog food, which was given a bad rep thanks to a movie. Don suggests the company change the name and repackage the product - a very interesting parallel to his own situation.12. 3x12 "The Grown Ups" (OAD: 11/1/09)
With the assassination of John Kennedy in the background, this episode deals head-on with the various issues facing some of the main characters. Betty tells Don she doesn't love him anymore as she loved Don Draper, not Dick Whitman. Henry proposes to Betty. Pete, who has been tempted to leave Sterling Cooper, walks out after losing a promotion to Ken. Roger presses to make sure Margaret's wedding comes off without a hitch. Major changes happen at Sterling Cooper as the company is acquired by a bigger firm. Unable to match the selling price, Don, Roger, Pryce and Bert decide to start their own firm and take with them all of their clients, along with Peggy, Pete and Joan. Paul and Ken are shocked when they realize they have not been asked to join the new firm. Betty contemplates Henry's proposal -- but will her fear of being a single mother force her to make the big mistake of marrying the wrong man?
