1. Smallville: Season One

Before they became mortal enemies, Clark Kent and Lex Luthor were the best of friends. Clark, a freshman in high school, must deal with all those normal teen issues, all the while hiding a huge secret.

2. Smallville: Season Two

Keeping a major secret within the family can be difficult for a teenager, so Clark decides to let his buddy Pete in on his secret. Red kryptonite is introduced in this season and plays a big part in the season finale and many future episodes of the series.

3. Smallville: Season Three

How does a young adult become a threat to the human race? He has a father like Lionel Luthor. This season features the unthinkable things Lionel will do to keep his son from taking over the family business and all the money and power that goes along with that position. Christopher Reeve makes an appearence this season as Dr. Virgil Swann.

4. Smallville: Season Four

As the teenage Clark Kent continues to grow up, the series takes on a more adult theme this season. We are introduced to Lois Lane, who happens to be Chloe's cousin. While in France, Lana's life takes a dramatic turn when she is infused with the power of a centuries-old witch, spawning a season-long theme involving Lana, Lex, Clark and Jason. Supernatural's Jensen Ackles plays Lana's boyfriend during season four.

5. Smallville: Season Five

After pledging their love and becoming a full-fledged couple, Lana and Clark appear to have finally found happiness. Clark, stripped of his powers, is living the life of a normal 18-year-old until he gains his powers back and eventually must break things off with Lana. On top of all that, Lex and Clark's relationship takes a major turn for the worse and the two begin down the path of becoming mortal enemies.
