While the ratings have not been kind to the CW, the little network that could certainly isn't going to let Nielsen dictate the excitement and chaos planned for November.
The CW November Sweeps Highlights:
Gossip Girl: Love strikes the group when Serena and Dan finally admit their feelings for each other - but can this relationship really survive? The second episode of sweeps centers around Blair's 17th birthday. Blair has some serious guilt issues after cheating on Nate, but is determined to have fun at her party. Rufus isn't pleased when Jenny brings her mother home for a visit. Nate's parents put him in a tough spot when they ask him to compromise himself for the sake of the family. The last episode of November brings fans an entertaining Thanksgiving dinner between the Humphreys and van der Woodsens.
Life is Wild: Assuming that this series hasn't been canceled this month, watch for a love affair between an elephant and a giraffe. The Blue Antelope plays host to its first wedding. Katie learns a secret about Oliver's father, which winds up pushing him away. After a big scare at work, Jesse and Mbali become closer.
Reaper: The bounty hunting continues this month as the vessels and targets become funnier and stranger than ever. The first episode of sweeps features a vessel in the form of an 8-track soundtrack to a bad 1970s flick. The hilarious second episode finds Sock with an obsession with Gladys (the DMV lady). After Gladys makes some unusual purchases at The Work Bench, Sock and Ben tail her to see if she is hiding bodies in her house. Just when Ben thinks the Devil is warming up to him, he realizes he is actually being set up to take the rap for a murder he didn't commit. Later in the month, we'll meet the Devil's mistress, who looks strangely like The OC's Melinda Clarke.
Smallville: With only three episodes of Smallville this month, don't think for a minute that fans get the short end of the stick as TPTB have gone all-out to give us a November to remember! Clark will finally see his biological mother Lara in the first episode, but in the third episode he will actually interact with the living and breathing Lara.
In episode two, Lana absorbs Clark's powers and uses her newfound abilities to break into Lex's safe to steal incriminating evidence. In episode three, when Clark and his mother come face-to-face, she gives him a special blue kryptonite ring, not knowing that Zor-El has switched the stone, thus stripping Clark of all his powers.
Supernatural: Sam and Dean have their work cut out for them when they must deal with fairy tales gone very bad in the first episode of sweeps. The second episode has the brothers investigating a bunch of drownings that occurred when none of the victims were near water. The third and final episode of sweeps will make Buffy and Angel fans happy when Mercedes McNab (Harmony) appears as a vampire. The brothers investigate some vampires that are unaware of how they were turned. Gordon escapes from jail, but before he can reach Sam, he is turned into a vampire!
